| Wow, it's been a month since I updated! Not too much has changed, tho. The parents have been really coming down on me hard lately, for a buncha reasons. I suppose they're stressed, but I'm still ready to get outta here!!
My biggest issue is... where to? Looks like it's either Philly or B'more (once I save up enough to make the move). I'm going to be doing lab research, in hopes of distinguishing myself so that I can apply to dual-degree programs after my first year of medical school. I figure that, whereever I do research, is where I'll choose to stay for med school. So the issue is, even though Penn is my first choice, and a lot of ppl I love are in Philly, my basic support and most of my closest friends are in B'more. It's hard to say good-bye to the city where I just spent four years of my life. And Hopkins is a great school, no doubt.
I gotta say, it's really hard to get motivated over the summer. So much fun stuff is going on, I find it hard to stay home to straighten up my life. I've got my goals lined up tho:
1. get a job!
2. save $$ for an apartment
3. move and get into the research, and teach for TPR
4. get published!
5. start med school, fall 2005
6. apply MD/PhD, fall 2006
7. The rest of my life gets spent in school! wahoo!
aight, on that note, I'm outie... i need a beer.
:)
Oh, yea, congrats to Kimbo and Nancers on the jobs!!
| I'm awake. It's five AM. Yay. This is thanks to Dad, for whom it was absolutely necessary to wake me up just to tell me not to party tonight. Considering I'm crashing at the TKE house, NOT LIKELY, Dad. I should drunken dial home just to piss them off. Of course, I won't, because then they'll worry. And I'll never leave the house again! Anyways, so Fitzpatrick gave me an A! I'm realllllly confused now, should I go talk to her and ask why? Or should i just let it be? I want her to edit my personal statement. Ugh, even now the woman manages to make life difficult! Not that I'm complaining, at least my GPA didn't drop. So, I'm headed down to BC to wrap some things up, turn in all of my application materials, and of course, see mah peeps! I'm pretty excited! Woo hoo, here comes Dad. Byeeeeeeee! | | |
| Hard core... I looked at some other Xanga sites and ppl got that stuff alllll pimped out! I wish i was that computer literate. Or bored, as it would take me millions of hours to get all of that done.
Anyyyyways, the world of Jess is experiencing downtime. I just had an amazing weekend in NY with my honey love muffin . Now I know why everyone wears those ubiquitous T-Shirts.... because mee toooo! I LOVE NY! I'm could def. see myself at NYU. Now, however, while my buddies are beaching it, I'm up here job hunting and calming down my panicky sis. She's better, thank you to all u guys who offered support and advice .
No word from UPenn, so I'm embarking on the application process for a second time... thrills! But I'm in much better shape nowadays than I was last year... and much more determined, so it'll all work out. For application reasons and more, I'm headed down to good ol MD next week. I'm so glad for a change from this backwater town. I love it, but ppl here.... well, they wear OVERALLS to GRADUATION! Ok, so it's Serena's kindergarten graduation, but still. Which, by the way, was soooooo cute! 15 five- and six-year-olds counted and sang and spelled and processed to "pomp and circumstance"! It's hard to believe she a first-grader already. I'm feeling old.
So Kimbo and I are having a "just graduated college and don't have jobs" yard sale tomorrow. Yes, this is what we backwater boonies do for fun. Right. Anyway, we're hopin ppl will take pity and buy our modest college girl belongings from us. Starts at 8 AM... woo hoo! Serena's selling lemonade, too. I'm just hoping to make enough money to pay for the movies!
I joined BodyWorks... or whatever that place is called. It's like this ultra-gym... pool, sauna, cardio deck, weight machines that stretch as far as the eye can see... and it's all brand new, and high-tech. There's this cardio thing... looks like an elliptical running thing but it's even more ridiculous... Bo thinks she looks retarded on it... i think it makes you look gazelle-ish. Watch it become my fav. workout.
I've finally got that invite to Will's wedding, thanks to Kev. Hopefully, that will also be on my Saturday agenda. Otherwise, I'm going to drool over Brad.
Whew, this is long. Screw writing, I'm off to swim. Laterz!

Heyyy I'm starting one of these things as a way to keep up with myself. Sometimes writing/talking is the only way to clarify what you're thinking, right? So here goes nuthin...
