  • Joanne and Travis’ Wedding - June 21st, 2008

We had a fantastic day photographing Joanne and Travis’ beach wedding in South Haven.  The weather was questionable all morning and when the rain began to pour down before noon we talked back-up plan with the hope that things would clear up and Joanne and Travis would get the beach wedding they dreamed about.

By 1:30pm the skies were clearing and while the girls finished getting ready the weather continued to clear.  After a transportation issue, Steve transported many of the guys and coolers to the beach and Jessica hopped the bus with the girls (the bus looked as if it could die at any moment and the girls all prayed they’d make it to the beach).  Everyone arrived at the beach as planned.  :)

Joanne made the long walk across the beach with her father while Travis and their guests watched.  It was so beautiful and as soon as Joanne’s father handed her over to Travis, she fell into his arms.  After the ceremony we headed over to the reception for a wonderful dinner and even better desserts.  It was beautifully decorated and the cupcakes matched perfectly.

Thank you so much Joanne and Travis - we loved working with you and spending your wedding day with you.

(And just for you Joanne, yours was our most favoritest wedding ever!)

  • Nicole and Shaun's Engagement Session

Nicole and Shaun shared the story of how they got together with us on the drive to Saugatuck and it was so obvious that these two are crazy about each other.  Nicole works at a local bank and she and Shaun told us how he would find excuses to go into the bank over and over again (even though it was usually to get cash and he does have an ATM card).  Finally he got up the nerve to ask her out and here we are photographing their engagement session!  We walked around downtown Saugatuck and then headed out towards Oval Beach.  Shaun shared with us that his grandfather used to take him and the other grandkids to Mount Baldy and how special that was.  We did a few photos at the foot of the very large, very steep staircase.  Then we ended the night at the beach with a beautiful sunset.  We had such a fun time and we hope you guys did too!  We are really looking forward to working with you again soon.  Now we just have to wait until November!  To see more from Nicole and Shaun's session go to Steve's site

  • Alysha and Brian's Wedding ~ Saturday, June 14th, 2008

My good friend Tracy came down from Traverse City to photograph Alysha and Brian's wedding with me.  We had a great day.  We got to the beautiful Eagle Eye Golf Course and didn't have much time for photographs so we asked Alysha and Brian to come outside with us at sunset and got some beautiful photographs of the two of them.   We got some cute photos of the flower girl and ring bearer too.

Funny story...Tracy infomed me about halfway through dinner that I had a tear in my skirt.  Of course since she didn't make a big deal of it I assumed it was a tiny hole and didn't worry about it.  Upon inspection however it was a pretty large tear right on the behind.  Yup.  Fortunatly my skirt was pretty loose and it didn't really show.  So as we are leaving I get in the car and hear the RRRRRRRRIP!  Thank goodness it was after the reception.  Then we stop to get gas on the way home.  I had turned the skirt so the tear was on the side and when we got back in the car I hear another RRRRRRRRRIP.  So now I've got two huge wholes in my skirt and to top things off, Tracy's car won't start!  Fortunatly we are only about a mile from home.  Steve had to come rescue us.  Thus ended our crazy night!  Alysha and Brian - I hope you guys had a GREAT night!  :)

  • I had two weddings on the East side of the state this weekend and had the pleasure of working with Holly and Bryce on Friday afternoon.  I met up with the girls at Holly's house where we did photographs in her parent's front lawn.  Then we went into Rochester and got some urban photographs.  All of this was followed by a beautiful ceremony and a fabulous reception at Petruzello's.  Thanks so much Holly and Bryce - it was a wonderful day!
