Isn't the pic beautiful?  It's actually 2 blocks from where I live except now it's pretty ugly because all the snow melted and the mud has taken over.  Sorry if this is hard to read.
(maybe highlighting will help!)

Anyway, word reached me that a Taiwanese song composer recently passed away, and it was noted that one of the most famous songs he composed was "愛像什麼."

This song and my family go waaaaay back.  When I was a kid, Cat and I used to always sing it in the car.  But it, along with our entire collection of tapes, got stolen on a road trip to Philadelphia for a wedding.  It was a distant memory for me until recently! This was one of those moments where WOW was the only word to describe my reaction. hehe.

Enjoy!!!

It truly amazes me how people can be so spontaneously talented.  Our law school is putting together a musical --- traditionally used to make fun of all the professors and maybe a few students ... and the acting ability/musical talent of some of the folks is incredible.  It's like, if we all weren't lawyers, we'd be completely different people. Completely different.

My contribution is through the sweet and harmonious warm notes of a viola. : ) I feel like I'm reliving middle school orchestra, and it's a nice nostalgic flashback of what could've been had I pursued a musical career.  biiiig emphasis on the flashback part of that...

Anyhow --- read an article today that described a study (among other studies with conflicting evidence) that suggested people who take mid-day naps (ex. those in Spain for their siestas) have less of a chance of getting heart disease than others.  That's the first sign of encouragement for napping adults I've seen in a long time --- and it sounds great!  I used to take a nap everyday in high school.  I think I can actually afford to do that now too.  My best working/thinking hours are at midnight anyway!

So --- if you get the chance, take a nap!

I have just relived my days as busy undergraduate.  Phew --- and to think I thought they were over when I was an undergraduate?   By 'days' I mean crazy sleeping hours... which pretty much describes it completely... also stalled grocery runs, put-together-what-I-have-in-the-fridge-or-freezer-meals, and buying school carton-sized milks for 93 cents a day.

Guess I haven't really updated this at all, eh?  I was inspired to change my pic and figured I should supplement the change with a few generic comments here and there.

1) Go ...Bears? 2) yay for job searching! 3) boo for below zero degree weather 4) yay for ice skating right around the corner 5) glad to see American Idol starting up again 6) not so glad to see the focus on people who fake it AND get lots of media coverage 7) am coping with roommate issues... well, just one who tends to use things up without replacing them, who I have a sneaky suspicion is smoking in her room and/or burning some intense incense or candles, and who is very messy in the kitchen (for a faithfully, ever learning cook like me --- that sucks!) 8) optimistic about the upcoming presidential elections 9) having fun singing 10) going to be reacquainting myself with a stringed instrument real soon : )

I guess the most 'ugh' thing thus far is thinking about #7.  It's all about the guts to be mean, right?

But the rest are pretty much either tolerable or : )

So things are starting to speed up again --- as people all around me are sucked into new schedules, I find myself trying to be more productive as the days go by.  Haha, well, provided that I wake up before noon! Still, the days are starting to count down till when I will be starting to bury my nose in books --- and mayhap falling asleep in the process!  (hopefully not though : )

First thing's first:  I need to take advantage of my time and start getting into shape!  I can only imagine what pre-season (not to mention the summer workout plans) that my hockey team will be facing soon enough.  I just remember constant pain... a soreness that not only screamed ouch, but also made me wonder at how many new muscle fibers would be used to replace the old ones that so obviously wore out. hehe.   Well, that was the beauty of exercising in a group --- we'll see what happens with self-motivation!
