It has been an interesting week. Marja was in the hospital and we found out how inhumane hospitals are to most people. It was a a hurry up and wait. I know they are busy but do they have to be so understaffed. Hospitals according to their annual reports are making lots of money. So they build parking places and new wings, they do not need to cutnursing staff. Makes no sense.

Also my son ran into the stupidity of colleges. He is trying to get into the college of Education at New Mexico U. They need teacher. They are short of teachers. So they change the rules every time he talks to them. They have made it very difficult to become an education major. They even say they know that but those are the rules and even if we do not get anybody to teach we have to go by the rules. His advisor said she has had many student complain then drop our of being an education major. Seems they would learn. Does not make sense.

Oh well, the world does not make sense. Maybe only to the bean counters.

Today is another day when gas prices go up. Seems like every day. Two things, first, how concerned can we be when we drive 80 miles an hour on the highway. We all know that we get the best mileage at between 55 and 60. I know I do. So we burn to much gas and then complain about it. Second, why is it that when the price of a barrel of gas goes up  the gas stations (oil companies) go up right away. but when it goes down it take weeks to drop. I understand the drop, the gas in the tank in the ground is the expensive stuff. But is not the gas in the tank in the ground the cheaper stuff when the price goes up. Something to think about.

Then there is the problem with Iran. Both sides are acting like bullies on the playground. Making noises that are ment the scare one another. All it does is scare the rest of us. We, the US, can not go to war, we are already fighting on two frounts. How can we fight another war. So write George and tell him no more war. Then lets get it over with in Iraq and Afghanistan and bring our troops home.

On a different note Easter was great. Great worship and great singing. The spirit was with us and the Christ stood among us. Blessed Easter season.

It is always difficult to write about your rumblings. But here goes. I wonder what God thinks of all those people that know just what God is thinking. Those people who say God does not like so and so, or such and such. Just as long as it is someone esle who is the being condemned. There are those who do not like same sex marriage, I am sure God could care less who married who as long as love is there. There are those who say God is on our side in war, I do not thing God likes war at all. There are those who say my religion is better than yours so I must either convert you or kill you. I think God does not like us killing one another over anything let alone over which god is best. I think the gospel says we must love one another. We must. We also must try to make the world a better place. So we must stop wars, make sure everyone has housing, food, clothing and medical care. If we did that maybe then we would not need to kill one another.

One other thing. This constitutional amendment about marriage being for one man and one women. Do we really want to put discrimination in our state consitution, South Africa did and we condemned them for it. If we do so are we any better. I think not.

I was talking to a friend on Sunday and he said that he was having a hard time with our country. Or at lest our leadership. He had been taught all his life that countries that do not tell the truth, that hide things from the public and bend the truth where not good. He realized that that was a problem with the good old USA and it bothered him. It bothers me also. We are finding out a little at a time what secrets the government was not telling us. That they knew that there where not WMD in Iraq. That Iraq had no ties to 9/11. But they told us anyway then hid the answer behind a cloud of secrets. Not good. We need to take our right to know as citizens back. We need to tell the government that freedom does not mean they keep things from us but put them out for full discussion. That does not mean they share information that could cause problems but that they tell us the truth about what is happening. That they share it with Congress. That they not lie. If we are going to go to war, put our troops in harms way,   then we better have good reasons that are talked about freely. So we can makethe right chooses. Let us take our right as citizens back and tell the government they need to tell us the truth about what is happening.
