                                                 Mary...A Mother's Magnificat

                                                    Oooooooh God

                                      Oh God

                Oh Lord my God!

What's this new thing You've done?
                          Past trials and tears
                                          And all my fears

                                 You’ve given back my Son!

The Son, oh Lord
          They took from me

                           In death;
                                          three days ago.

          He’d told us once,of Jonah’s sign

                           But Lord

                                      How could we know?

Oh Lord, my God
                      Oh mighty God

                           What wonders You have done!
                                                     Through blood and pain
                                                                     which poured like rain

                                   You’ve given us Your Son.

The grave now has no power, Lord;
                      And death has lost it’s sting

                                 This precious Son

                                                Your Kingdom’s gained

                                                              Oh, let Hosannahs ring!

          Praise you my God

                          Sweet Father God

                                              What victory You’ve won!

                       You’ve blessed the cross;
                                     Made gain from loss,

                                                 And raised up Christ, your Son!

And Mary said, "My soul magnifies the Lord,  and my spirit rejoices in
                            God my Savior, ... for the Mighty One
has done great things for me, and holy is his name." (Luke 1:46-49)

This is so beautiful, and a perfect resolution to the Lament!  And the music, normally "Christmas" music, fits so well. It hit me this year that you really can't separate the events of Christmas, Good Friday, and Easter, because all three were/are part of God's plan to save us. We're justified by His death, but saved by His life -- and without a "cradle" there would be no "cross."  Thank you for letting the Lord speak through you once again.  Happy Easter!  Praise the Lord always.  Gerrie

Hisprayerwarrior has a great point about the inseperability of Christmas and Easter.  I especially like the line "you've blessed the cross; made gain from loss."  He did truly bless the means, but you seemed to think that the cross was a side item in the light of the Savior.  I liked that.  Near the end of next week, I am going to open a discussion on my site about such matters.  I would like to know what you think.

great series on Mary's feelings!  I never got the idea that you are Catholic 'til now.  Are you Catholic or protestant?

Wow.....this makes me cry. And I love the background pic too.

Terrific job of capturing Mary's feelings here. One does not need to be Catholic to be in tune with the heart of the Mother as well as the Father and Son - but I knew that. I think this just goes to show that the important thing is not denomination, but a heart in tune with God.

RYC: I wanted to say I remember this poem you mentioned: "The world is so full of a number of things, I'm sure we should all be as happy as kings." (Stevenson)

Just got back from Easter services in the mountains -- just beautiful! ryc:  thank you thank you thank you, yes, she did miss the point (if you saw her original post and my comment about her take on Acts 12, you'd see that even more clearly); and thanks for that scripture, I and knew it was there but couldn't remember where.  I have a very good grounding in scripture, but because of coming out of "old covenant teachings" into "new covenant grace, etc.," there are many things I'm just learning.  Praise God for the freedom He gives us in Christ!  You have no idea what it is like to have your second Easter in the new covenant of grace. Blessings on the rest of this wonderful Easter day!  Gerrie

ryc "Rejoice in the resurrection" -- it's been a wonderful day.  Services and lunch in the mountains, and then my youngest son Russell and his family came over for dinner. ( My ornery David and his wife stopped by but only stayed a few minutes.)  We had a little egg-hunt for my grandson Tyler...we put candy and money in the eggs and hid them around the living room (it was dark outside)...he loved it!  Praise God for His goodness and love to us!  in Him, Gerrie

I think I opened a can of worms commenting on Hiztreasurez and having her comment back; just received a link to lots of cult info from another user, and I put a comment on myself right after that one.... just want your feedback to make sure I'm not coming off sounding mean.  I'm asking Gail the same thing.  I've got to get me one of those thick skins I keep hearing about:)  Blessings on your week!  Gerrie

most awesome jim!

and the passage reminded me of the 126th psalm, of which i will try to type:

when the LORD brought back the captives ones to Zion, we were like those who dreamed. our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with joyful shouting, it was said among the nations: "The LORD has done great things for them"

The LORD has done great things for us!

We are filled joy!

You've restored our hearts like streams in the Negev. Those who've sowed in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.

Jim~ I was began typing this piece about bearing our cross in this world, because what He suffered...can never compare to our worst situation....but it got too wordy...and the meaning got lust in the shuffle of my words...so I figured people would either be ministered to by it or not...just depended on what God might be dealing with within them...

RYC: Thanks.

I start a 3-day stretch tomorrow. Then one day off and work again one, then two off. I hate this month's schedule. One on, one off, no consistency. Ulgh. I told the manager today I don't like that and asked her to give me 3 on 4 off or 2 on 3 off next schedule.

So, have a great week, yourself.

RYC:  I am now wondering how you got music from your CD onto your web page!  How do you do that?  I would love to be able to put music from my own CD on my webpage but I don't know how and it's not available on the web.

I sent you an email a while ago.  I guess it went into your email account (xanga) that you don't often check because I haven't heard back from you...and that's not typical of you.

Thanks for keeping in touch via xanga comments and such.

Blessings to you.
