Been without power since last week....

Which got me thinking.......

When power goes out
                   and all is dim
I cannot help
             but think of Him

Who is the source of power and light
and turns to day the darkest night.

Who, at a thought belit the sun,

and set the cosmos all to run
                                                In synchrony,
                                                                    and set to time;                                          rsz_165[1]

                      God's marvelous celestial rhyme.

Oh, Father set my heart to sing;
                                  renew my mind,
                                                  and let it ring

With pow'r from You,
                            and with Your light.

                 Oh, set me dancing
                                      in the night.

So let it be throughout my years
and when my course has run it's way

Lord, let me dance among the spheres
and bask in Your eternal day.

                     * * * * * * * * * *

And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God...
the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the splendor
and radiance (glory) of God illuminate it, and the Lamb is its lamp.

The nations shall walk by its light and the rulers and leaders of the earth shall
bring into it their glory.
And its gates shall never be closed by day, and there shall be no night there.
                                           Rev. 21:2b, 23b-25

Hoping you get your power back, some things are fun for a short time, but long periods without power is not one of them. Yet, we do have an awesome God.

And I thought being without phone for 3 weeks was bad! No power would be *ahem* trying of patience in the extreme.

Your poem strikes me as even more beautiful than usual.

RYC: Now THERE's a statement full of God-innuendo: [I was impressed how much changed with the power being out...] and fodder for a whole post; if only I didn't have to rush off to another long day at work.

Later....

A poet responds to trouble by prose!

Was there a flood? or thunderstorms? that made all the electricity go out?

ryc:  Yes, I agree.  I also perceive the chasm differently at times.  Most times it is more like a tiny crack or an imperceptible gradient from gray to grayer.  Only extraordinarily does it seem like a great chasm to me.  I find the tiny cracks to be immeasurably more pleasant than the vast chasms.

I'm liking this and the background picture too!  I'm glad to know that the struggle never ends.  I find the worst thing in any situation is to think something will end and waiting for that end that never comes.  I find that the one whose lips drip honey, but whose way leads to the grave (Proverbs), still she calls my name.

Still She Calls My Name...sorry to cut this short, but that sounds like the title to an unwritten poem!  I need to do something about that!

Wow, I've visited a lot of Christian sites in the last few weeks, and excuse me if I forgot that I already introduced myself to you!

Anyway, I hope I'm not intruding on anything personal here, but I'm new to Xanga so I'm not sure of all etiquette here yet! Anyway, I think you're a great thinker and I'm glad to know you're a fellow Christian.

I am trying to offer free Bibles to the world! I get a small amount of money when people click the ads on my page. Overtime this ads up and lets me send out free bibles, so please tell others so I can get more visitors and hopefully raise money for free bibles. Thank you so much!

Thank you!!!
