  • Baseball, Hot Dogs, etc.

Hitting While the little one was sick last week, I took the time to go to my sons State Regional Championship and watch Tyler play T ball. I was the outstanding player in the Little League Allstar Game in our fair city in 1952. Please don't forget that.

  • Graduation 2008

Daniel had a great day. One that begins early in the South to try to beat the heat. Graduation starte at 9:00 and was attended by over 7,000 friends, family members and those just generally interested in large crowds.

Daniel had quite a few family members and friends in attendance. Some have been family members for years, others are young friends, some others include classmates.

I met Daniel right after he received his diploma. I told him that the "World is at your feet, take the steps that God and your parents have taught you and you will not stumble." He begins work on his Masters next fall on a teaching/study grant from his alma mater.

DANIEL WE ARE ALL PROUD OF YOU.

    coffee house food for thought

I enjoy collecting pictures of quotes, etc. I found this one downtown in a little coffee shop near the University. Anyone know the author of the quote?

About Me

  • I enjoy good music, photography as a hobby, and playing with my grandsons. I collect CDs. Not the ones in the bank, but those I can listen too. Currently, there are well over 1000. I also enjoy genealogy, southern history, southern culture and literature. My favorite writers are Harry Crews, Cormac McCarthy, Faulkner, Hemingway, Larry Brown, Lee Smith, Eudora Welty, Thomas Wolfe, William Styron, Walker Percy, and others.
