I feel like some sort of stalker when reading other peoples' Xanga sites.  I mean, I wouldn't feel that way if I were just reading completely random ones since they'd be for people that I have absolutely no affiliation with.  Nor would it be weird to read ones that my friends put up since I presumably am involved in their lives and should know or would be interested in all the information they're sharing anyway.

No, the stalkerish feel comes from reading sites of people that I really don't know too well, which then extends to looking at their friends' sites because I'm just so intrigued!  It's weird knowing that this dude I kinda know has a friend who's brother just had a baby.  The digital age brings a whole new meaning to the term 'stalking'.  You've put your personal information, thoughts, and innermost emotions out there for all the world to read, so there's really no blaming me for reading it.  I can hardly be called a stalker for simply reading the information that you've chosen to put up.  And yet somehow, I still feel strangely dirty.

But if you join a blogring, you're asking for random people you only have a very slight connection with to drop by. I wouldn't think of it as "stalking" unless the person kept bothering you. I dunno--maybe leaving comments counts?!

Yup with digital stalking and identity theft, privacy is quickly fading away.
