New York City: Day 1

Today was my very first day in New York City.  It was drizzling when I got out of the cab and pouring torrential buckets by the end of the night!  Everyone has been pretty nice so far; I really like my apartment roommate Meg and I don't know Britni yet but I bet I will like her too.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that I get to keep my room as a single.  They mistakenly put a boy in my room and he didn't stay so I'm hoping no one else gets added in!

I went to the Whole Foods grocery store today and got some healthy food to eat and tide me over here for a little bit and then I went to Kmart during the MONSOON to get a pillow, hangers, etc.  I still need to get more hangers though!  Tomorrow we are starting bright and early at 8:30 A.M.  I am excited about things now.  I have been trying really hard to be friendly and pleasant to people because I know I am not apt to make good first impressions usually.

Well I guess that is all for now!  I will try to write more regularly because I know a lot of people are interested in my new job and the city and such, so I will write to you all later~!

I tried SUSHI!!! for the first time yesterday. It was surprising good (although I didn't get any of the raw fish ones). Josh and I went to Sushibar and had edamame, sun rolls, crab rolls, california rolls, and sweet potato roles. They were very good and I am excited to go back!

School seems overwhelming alot but when I think of what other people have going on I realize that I'm just lazy and not really that overworked. Right now I am working on a 15-20 page Spanish paper over laismo, I have to write a response paper for my theatre class, do all the final paperwork for my final scene and perform my final scene. Tonight I am going to shoot a story on Latino-Asian fusion food for WTIU News Forum and I'll edit that and put it together tomorrow afternoon. I still feel like I'm forgetting something though, and I hate that feeling. Journalism, Spanish, Theatre....yes, I believe that's all.

In other news, I found out today I am graduating with "Highest Distinction" honors so I will get some cream and crimson tassels to wear for graduation. Note to self: pick them up! Honestly graduation is sneaking up and its so weird. I was ready to leave high school--so ready--and college I just love so much. Nevertheless, I'm excited about what the fellowship in New York holds for me and my future.

Alright, as Luke would say, "Paz a todos!"

Cesar's class is killing me.  It's painful.  Why do I even bother?  It would be a shame to be a 3.9 GPA senior who gets her first college C her final semester of college.  ugh.........fingers crossed que no.
