| ^^EXCELLENT MOVIE....RENT IT^^A Fun-Filled Week of F's... - Five Months :: Today, Beck is 5 months old!! I can't even believe it. Five months ago today, I was thanking the Lord for epidurals.
- Friends :: One of my greatest friends, Jen "Little Foot" Troyer, is coming to town this weekend. I can't wait to laugh my face off with her. Dallas stole her away, and I have vowed to steal her back. I'm going to win this fight...
- Phone (Okay, so it's a "ph" but phonetically speaking, I'm still within my theme) :: I'm up for a new phone this week. I wouldn't even care--because I am so not the person who needs the newest, sleekest technology on the market--but the phone I have right now keeps dying on me. I charge it all night long, and it will die during a 5-minute conversation.
- Freedom :: Beck is no longer sleeping with a pacifier or his swaddle blanket. The first night did not go so great, but he's doing great now...fast asleep as I type.
- Fence :: Our privacy fence installation is scheduled for Wednesday. There have been so many kinks in this process that the company offered 10% off because of all the hassle...so I guess it pays to wait.
- Focus :: I have a new girl in my quad (accountability group), and she has really challenged my heart. She was wearing a dress this past week when we met, and it was the first thing she had bought since...July of 2007!! Wow. She said that living in Argentina for 6 months made her realize how excessive we Americans live...so she's living differently, thinking like Jesus. I want a heart that aches for peace, not a new pair of jeans.
- Family :: My mother-in-law's birthday is this Thursday, so we're heading up to Urbana to spend the evening with the fam. With gas prices so high, we've been limiting our trips to...well, anywhere...so it will be good to get out of Dayton for a bit. Happy early Birthday, Denise!
- Food :: We started Beck on rice cereal this week. Fun!
- Five lbs of Fat :: I need to lose 5 more pounds til I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight. Though, my goal is somewhere more like 15-20 more lbs. I can do it...just give me like 5 more months. :)
- Frozen Delight :: Coldstone now has a blueberry ice cream. It tastes like the blueberry ice cream at Hanna Barbara Land at Kings Island. I WILL treat myself to some this week. So, let's go with "6 months" for the bullet above.
- Okay, I'm stretching my F's...better quit while I'm ahead.

| What day is it???Last night, Matt and I searched everywhere for new patio furniture. We know what we want, and what price we want to pay, but we can't seem to find anything. Later last night, I was looking on Craigslist, and I saw that there was a weekend garage sale where the people are selling a patio set. The ad said that the sale started on Friday at 8am. So this morning, I got up a little early and packed a sleepy baby into his carseat and set off to be the first one at the garage sale. When I got there...nothing. And then it hit me: the ad said the garage sale was July 18th & 19th...next week. I'm an idiot. Like I mentioned, we went to Kentucky last weekend. I figured I'd share a few of the pictures (taken by my inlaws because we can never remember to take our own pictures): Beck's first swim...he's the cutest ever!
The little girl next to Beck is Anna Grace. All I know is that she may be the funniest 5 yr old I've ever met...probably my favorite part of going to Kentucky.
These are Matt's Grandpa's sisters, Ruth and Joe. Another sister that we met this weekend said, "Beck...now doesn't that sound like a horse's name?" Only in Kentucky...
A couple more of the little guy.
He loves his grandpa! And he seems especially fascinated with touching his face...how cute is that?
Beck loves his family!
And it wouldn't really capture the Kentucky spirit if I didn't have a picture of a cornhole game, with a guy in the back chewing a big wad of tobacco.

| i.am.tired.Do you ever have those days that you just feel exhausted...like even the blood flowing through your veins needs a vacation? That's how I feel. So let me slip into SomeWhereElse for a few minutes: - I want to be on the beach...in the bahamas...with Matt and no one else.
- I want to laugh really hard with my college friends and take stupid pictures.
- I want to lose this last bit of pregnancy weight. Like 10lbs. But 20lbs would be okay too...
- I want to sit around a fire.
- I want our privacy fence to hurry up and be finished.
- I want a big glass of ice water.
- I want to go shopping for a new pair of silver jeans (my favorite).
- I want to smell fall.
- I want to hear Beck laugh like a maniac.
- I want to take a nap.
- I want to hang with my mom.
- I want to hang with my best friend Becca for like 2 hours straight with no kids or husbands.
- I want to swim.
...so...I'm off to get a big glass of water. | | |
| We just returned from a trip to Kentucky to visit with Matt's extended family for the 4th of July. We go down there every year, and it's fun to just relax and enjoy a slower pace of life with some slower-paced people. Beck actually started the trip off with a low-grade fever, so of course that meant high-grade worrying for his mama. Luckily, some Tylenol and a little extra sleep helped him snap out of it. We even got to experience his first swim, which was so incredibly fun. I didn't know that I would ever stand in such awe of two tiny legs kicking it out in the water, but I was just amazed at how comfortable he seemed to feel, like it was totally his natural element. We got a video on our actual video camera, so I'll hopefully post that in the next few days. I know my inlaws got some pictures, too, so I'll post those whenever they get a chance to send them my way. For now, I'll post a couple pictures and videos for you. Here he is right before we left for the trip. Two minutes after this picture, he pooped his pants so bad that it was half-way up his back. So much for this cute little outfit.
He was wild when we got home last night...just hyper! His personality is coming through so much lately, and I'm loving it. I think he's going to be a little pistol like his mommy!
This is his new thing. If you tap on his mouth lightly he likes to hear how it affects his voice. Cute.|
And remember the Mariah Carey squeals I was talking about? Here's proof.

| I assume this means he's getting bigger, stronger, smarter....older. I don't think I'm ready for that to happen.
