  • Presidential NASCAR

    I had an epiphany tonight;

    I think the Presidential election should be ran like a NASCAR racing event.  Think of all the viewers you would have, not only at home but at the event it self.

    There would be tons of people wanting to get involved with the election process.  Who doesn’t like watching a good racer, his crew and his car?

    You could have M&M, Coors Light, Home Depot, GEICO, Allstate, AOL, B of A, Budweiser, Coca-cola, Craftsman Tools, Domino’s Pizza, Viagra and the like sponsoring the Presidential Elects. You would know them by the products that they endorse or that sponsor them.

    Couldn’t you see Obama and McCain gearing up to get into their cars?  I can and it is a funny picture.

    But who would they get for their pit crews?  Perhaps some of the wayward folk called Congress?

    I think this would be a great chance to see them actually work, and to work together for a common goal for once with out special interest groups gaining an advantage.

    They would have to race 200 laps, like most NASCAR events.  I think you would actually get other types of candidates involved in this process since it is about a person’s ability not how much talk they do, or how much cash they have.

    Instead of having to listen to their false promises, debates, and gossip about the other candidates we could see pit maneuvers, good driving, and sometimes crashes or pile ups.

    You would be able to see if they were the candidate for you from how they handle the laps, if they are dirty on the track they will be dirty in office, do they listen to their pit boss or do what they want and they blow a tire, or worst blow an engine?

    Who would they get for their crew chiefs? Perhaps their running mates the VP’s?  I could just image Hillary telling Obama to go low coming out of a turn and Obama refusing to listen to her.  Or McCain being told by Romney or Lieberman to bring the car in to pit but because he didn’t hear him he causes a pile up on the track.

    Of course you know it the race would be called due to rain, and so we would have to return another day to see the out come.
