Real Prayers...

IMG_0951

Got this in the mail from my mom... not sure where it was from but liked how real and honest these prayers are...

TEN PRAYERS GOD ANSWERS

1.                 God, if you really exist, please show me.  Give me a sign that I will          understand and know that you are really REAL.

2.                 Would You make me an instrument for Your glory.

3.                 Bless me with abundance in order that I may be used of You to bless others.

4.                 God, please get me through this suffering that I am experiencing.

5.                 God, am I a terrible person?  Lord, please forgive me of all my sins.

6.                 God, this stress is killing me.  Please give me Your PEACE.

7.                 God, I’m afraid; I admit it.  God, give me COURAGE.  Deliver me from all kinds of fears that plague my life.

8.                 God I have smarts, but I desperately need wisdom.  Please give me WISDOM.

9.                 God, please bring good out of this awful mess that I find myself in.

10.             God, cause me to fulfill the destiny that you have for my life.

Our Love Story

A dear Xanga friend has started a Friday blogging series called "Your Love Story." She asked many of us to submit our stories and she is posting them each week. It was so fun going back and remembering how our story began and reliving it in a sense. So thanks, Amber, for your thoughtfulness and creativity! Can't wait to read all the upcoming stories!

Family Ties

What fun to have Nanny and Grandpa Hudson here with us all the way from Thailand! Adelaide is in hog heaven with all the family around. Lots of lovin', lots of laughing, lots of playing, lots of spoiling. :) This was the first time John's parents met Sydney. Its been a great bonding time! They are off to Thailand tomorrow and that will be a sad day. We are hoping/planning to go to Thailand for Christmas of 2009 (i.e. Before Sydney turns two so we don't have to pay for her ticket. :). Anyhow, its been about 110 degrees this whole time so that limits us as to activities to do. So there has been a lot of just hanging out and playing together at home, which is great. And to top things off, Aunt Amy just flew in last night to join the party and Hannah comes in on Thursday. More good times ahead!!

Here are some highlights thus far:

Um, Grandpa got a little confused on the diapers... here is Sydney with Adelaide's diaper on. Its a shocking feeling, I know. :)

Bringin' the Sexy Back with Photobooth

Just in case you thought maybe I had a problem with low self-esteem.... or confidence.... or security... or sanity...... Think again.

This is what Adelaide and I do for fun. :) Maybe this is what we would look like in Mars?

And because of these pictures, I realized how hideous my hair was. Yes, just my hair, the rest of me is just fine. What.....? So I went and did this today:

And that is all I have to say about that. :)

Uncle Babe

Uncle Gabe is here. Well, sometimes its Uncle Gabe, other times its Uncle Babe. Those of you who actually know Gabe well will be laughing your heads off at that.... as it is SO fitting. :)

We've had a great time with Gabe... He and John have gotten lots of "guy stuff" done over the weekend... tearing apart our shed just to move it over a few feet and then putting it back together again, going on a fruitful and expensive trip to Bass Pro (thank the Lord Gabe was here to make that trip... I last about half an hour at Bass Pro... just enough time for John to make it beyond the gun counter), a trip to the shooting range, a yummy dinner at Red Lobster, and currently they are out back hunting down scorpions with a black light (I will not elaborate as to what they are doing when they find the stinking things....). Root beer floats are awaiting us all after the scorpion massacre of 2008. Adelaide was especially taken with Gabe this time around (he visited us in Berlin too)...

Gabe is headed out to Uganda in a couple of weeks to head up the construction side of a Children's Center (or rather several of them). He is making his trek across the states from Miami to Oregon to visit all of his family and friends before heading overseas full time. We are so thankful the Hudsons in Phoenix were one of the x-country stops! We love Gabe and so appreciate his zealous passion for God and willingness to GO!
