The Theory of Procrastination

As with everything else, there is the opportunity cost of doing work diligently.
The time spent perfecting something could be spent appreciating everything else.
Mastering an art comes at the expense of exploring other fields.
There is a certain enigmatic sense of satisfaction associated with finishing just in time.
It is amazing to see how one can increase productivity to such high levels when the pressure is on.
A difficult balance between minimal effort and maximum efficiency.
Of course there are consequences that come with waiting until the last minute.
But every second of life is a moment that cannot be relived.
Procrastination is what happens when we try do what we want, as we try to accomplish what we must.

What is desire?
Desire often gets confused with selfishness, greed, ambition, need, hope...
There are times when one is so overwhelmed by desire, that they become the embodiment of desire itself.
This often has the effect of pushing the desired entities further and further away from one's grasp.
The more you have, the more you want more.
It is sad but true; the feeling induced from such intense wanting can be addicting.
At this point, desire goes beyond functioning as a motivational mechanism, a means to an end.
It becomes a substitute for what we cannot have.
We enter the world of illusion and self-deception.
It is so powerful because we can have desire for anything and everything, even if we will never attain.
In a sense, "everything is nothing and nothing is everything."
Our hearts are fickle because reality is fleeting.
Dreams are wonderful because the mind can freely gratify our deepest desires and wildest fantasies.
Life is a balancing act between actions and desires.
We must remember that both have intended and unintended consequences.
Even when desires are not acted upon, or even revealed.
So do we have desire?
Or do our desires control our every move?

The fragility of life is perfectly matched,

By the overwhelming power of death.

From the moment that we are innocently hatched,

To the time when we must draw our last breath,

We constantly wonder if we are being watched,

Searching for the purpose of paths we select.

Truth is, we are all on a bridge that must be crossed.

So when faced with the end, be brave, not upset;

Because new hope will sprout, nothing at all is lost.

The ashes of this life are the essence of the next.

Heaven's sent a new reason to smile.

Eclipsing the shadows of the past.

It feels so good, it's been a while.

Delivering me from the sadness of the last.

I thank you lord for her precious smile.

The consequence of getting lost in a mirage is... nothing.

Just hopes and dreams overwhelmed by reality.

The journey and the perseverance doesn't even matter.

When the illusion finally wears off, the desert returns.

Distorted perception restored.

The only thing that feels real is the pain that burns.

And even after reluctantly relinquishing the fleeting dream.

There is this disheartening feeling.

That even the things you thought were real.

Are no longer there.

Heh, things get real messed up sometimes.

Unexpressed sadness tends to go unrecognized.

Insignificance will fade away anyway...

I just hope you find happiness some day.

Cause even though my affinity for you is gone,

The intentions in my heart were genuine.

Good luck in your life; I will move on with mine.
