Never been mad

I just realized that I've never in my life seen my younger brother get mad.  I've never seen him go ballistic.  I've never seen a maniacal glint in his eye.  I've only seen him raise his voice and swear to get his point across.  That's it.

I am nothing like him.

World Food Shortage

World Food Shortage

me: So i'm not well read on the subject
do you think it's an overpopulation cause?
i mean, overpopulation, therefore food sortage?

Laura Unfortunately I'm not well read on the issue either
I imagine though that there are various variables

 me yes, definitely

Laura 1. Waste and over consumption in the West

 me yup

Laura 2. Reduction of arable land due to bad ecoplanning maybe

 me yup

Laura 3. High cost of production and shipping of food

me the way the economy works, the way things are exported imported, and the policies that prmote certain practices
yup

Laura
so the question is, is there actually too little food to go around?

me Ok, so robin was saying she believes overpopulation is not the reason, but rather all the points you mentioned and a whole bunch of other factors causing some people to be overly abundant in food, and others starving

Laura nodnod...

me she said scientists believe world should be able to spport 12 million people with food

Laura err, i hope that's billion

me i mean 12 billion

Laura hehe

me Anyway, so I was thinking about this and i thought "Just becaus a world can support  12 billion people
doesn't mean it should"

Laura very true

me and maybe all these factors that you and robin mentioned are just ways to stop the population from hitting 12 billion. What you think? Just an idea.

Laura The difficulty I have is purely that so much more of the world is starving, working like dogs for very few wages, etc, than is enjoying the fruits of that labour.
Even if it is a way of keeping down the population - so are epidemics, natural disasters, wars - it is a horribly unfair way of going about it.

me maybe World Justice is a constant stuck at the value 3 ( on a scale of 0-10, 0 being unjust, 10 being just)

Laura Because also note this: In all of the regions where the starvation is the worst, the primary resource of people is other people. If starvation was the best way to keep populations down, then the population of these places would be abysmally low. Instead, we have LOWER birth rates here in Canada.
Obviously the best way to control population is to have an over abundance of food, freedom, and comfort.
grins your thoughts?

me hmm...I have to think about that one.....good idea though hmm......

Stupid Parents

Stupid Parents

Most of the time, it pisses me off to see parents neglect their kids because "they don't have time".  Or parents that teach solely on beatings, because they don't have the patience to try different methods.  If you can't make time for your children, then don't make children!

Stop complaining about your busy schedule.  Refugees working 3 jobs have time to cook for their families.  Single moms spend time reading to their kids.  So what the hell is wrong with you?  Your laziness and fucked up sense of priorities will screw your kid over.  Nice job dumbass.
