Not much going on these days. I can't believe it's almost August.

The Dark Knight was awesome...both times I saw it.

Breaking a trend here, but I have to post.

I know some who read the ol' blog aren't big sports fans. Truth told, though I get enjoyment from watching sports, there's a lot I don't like about them either. Right now, that is being tempered by excitement.

I honestly never thought I would see the State of Oklahoma have its very own major-league sports team. But it's happening. It's real. Oklahoma City just became part of a highly-visible global entity, and there's a lot of potential in that.

I feel for the people in Seattle right now. I don't think anyone really wanted to get a team this way, and I have an immense amount of sympathy for the people losing their team.

But we will have a team here. It won't be a minor-league team, or some exhibition game, or some temporary relocation. It will be OUR team.

I know I'll be fighting for an opening-night ticket.

Your monthly update...

The Indiana Jones movie was so-so. Very much looking forward to The Dark Knight in a couple of weeks.

Going to Texas for a wedding reception on Saturday - should be great times!

Not much going on, except work and community band. Hooray!

That's all for now. Here's hoping I update earlier than a month from now.

It has been a full month since I updated this. Wow.

I really don't have much to write about these days. Life is pretty mundane...actually, there's starting to be some routine in my life again. While I'm somewhat distressed by the loss of flexibility, I have greatly missed some structure to my days.

A lot of the stuff I used to write about is stuff I don't really have a reason to write about anymore; mainly, because I'm not right in the thick of all those things like I used to be. Unfortunately, those are the exciting parts.

The tedium of my average day does not make for very good reading material; hence, the dearth of posting.

Then again, I may just be part of the trend - no one seems to be updating much anymore. Are we actually out living our lives, or do we just have better ways to waste time on the Internet?

**********************

Hopefully, I'll be able to post on Thursday or Friday about the new Indiana Jones movie, Monday at the latest. If anyone wants to get a group together to go, give me a call and I'll do what I can to help assemble said group.

That's really all for now...later.

Three weeks...geez, I really don't post to this anymore.

Convention was this past weekend, and was once again a great time. It was good to see everyone and take some time to relax.

Reality hit big time today:

 - I have two papers due Wednesday.
 - My air conditioner is broken.
 - I was in an accident today, and now my truck has Bitter Beer Face.
 - Discovered I have gained 10-12 pounds since starting my job. Not good.
 - Still haven't had time to take care of stuff to get enrolled.
 - Still need to talk to the band staff and my advisors about my bright idea.

And to top it off, a lot of really stupid, mopey, and unhelpful thoughts were running through my brain most of the afternoon.

Today sucked. It just absolutely sucked. If things had been rough the past few weeks, this was the kind of day that would have sent me over the edge.

Off to work on those papers...
