Merry Xmas, folks. I just wanted to pop in to share my latest musical obsession. If you're a Brit, you've definitely heard of Amy Winehouse, but if you're American, you're probably wonderfully ignorant of this soulful chanteuse. Her sound is refreshing in that she could have walked straight out of 1955, but the subject matter of her songs is definitely 2006. In any case, here's a couple songs for download off of her second cd, Back to Black:
I finally sent my car into the collision repair shop today (the accident was September 9). In addition, I had to get a rental to tow my ass around town until my car's ready. The only two cars available were a Ford F-150 and an Altima. I chose the F-150. Can you imagine me in a big pick up truck?!
I feel so butch tooling around in such a big ass truck. Oh, and who knew it'd be so difficult to drive something so wide and elevated. Weird.
It's voting day today, and I honestly haven't researched much about any of the new bills. I think I'll just pick three and do a little studying up at the beach (I know. I hate getting the afternoon off to fuck around at the beach too!). It's not irresponsible to systematically ignore the other bills, right? I don't really care either way. At least I'm voting. Oh, and I think I'll vote for the Governator this time too.
Oh, I have to start on the grad school apps too.
And e-mail a teacher for a letter of rec. Goddamn, I hate asking for that kind of bullshit.
This is turning into a flow of things-to-do consciousness.
I have to watch last weeks Ugly Betty online too.
A nap would be good.
Ugh, must vote! That's my priority for the next hour.
Mary's got a greatest hits coming out in December and this is reportedly the first single. It's a Bryan Cox track that sounds a little like Danity Kane's "Ride For You" (also by Bryan Cox).
