if everyone's fate is pre-designed, there will only be sorrows but the lord has told us that life is fragile and you don't know when will the day come, we should oversee the short existence of our life and look forward ahead of the eternal life in heaven or the death after death.
you choose, don't regret at the moment when your day comes, it's too late to compensate.
there is no sins which god cannot forgive, the point is whether you do want him to forgive or not.
