| First Sunburn of the year! Yep, that's right. Between Saturday raking, and Sunday afternoon cruising on the bike...I attained mild sunburn on my arms and face! Guess that I'll have to consider wearing sunscreen now. Here's a few pics from the ride...
You know when my wife is riding with me because of her pink helmet!!
Gorgeous day, gorgeous girl!
Hope ya'll are doing well! | | |
| Oh ya...Xanga...Well, I guess that I almost forgot that Xanga exists...How is that you say? Why would you forget? Aahhh...I am glad that you asked. Let me share with you my reply. I have really realized how precious time is! Ever since coming to school, I have had to make some real priorities about my time. For those of you who may not know, I am at Liberty Theological Seminary as a full-time student. I am also working part-time in a church as a Youth Pastor - for those of you in ministry you are probably laughing at the fact that I said part-time because you know as well as I do that you don't punch in and punch out in ministry. 20 hours is never 20 hours. But God has not called me to only 20 hours. I give what I can. Of course there is the priority of maintaining a good marriage, which means spending time with my wife...who is also working full-time and taking online classes full-time (I married an extremely talented woman). And there is the job that all Christians are called to - THE GREAT COMMISSION. I went to a church conference at Newspring Church recently and heard Perry Noble communicate why it is NOT called the the Great Suggestion!!So, yes, Xanga has faded in the background some for me. I will try to update when I can, and try to keep up with you my friends!! Living intentionally, Josh

| FIRE!!Fall has been pretty nice here in Indiana, and some high school guys had a spur of the moment idea that we should play some football. I then remembered that we had a burn pile of brush and wood that could make for a fun bonfire. So Saturday night arrived, I had picked up supplies for cooking hot dogs over the fire and all. We started the afternoon with some tackle football, and as the sun set I went to start the fire. I guess I didn't realize how much brush there was, and when the fire got going, it was like 15 ft. high. I went to go get something and came back to realize that someone had brought fireworks and threw them into the fire. By now it was after 9pm and we were just a little ways behind the Pastor's house. Oops. For the next 30 min, bottle rockets were flying out and firecrackers were going off . When we decided to cook the hot dogs we realized our mistake. The fire was so big and hot, that we couldn't get close enough to cook our hot dogs. The scene became very comedic. We were figuring out ways to get close enough which included laying prostrate on the ground while shielding our face and head. Needless to say, you would have lauged had you been there! Overall, it was a night of making memories, and luckily, no rapid fire spreading! | | |
| Taking a rest in the new place...Whew...time to relax a little. This past weekend has been busy. Last Wednesday, 9/20/06, we closed on our house. Since we had already started the process of moving our stuff into storage, we made it out by Friday evening, encountering only a little rain in the moving process. We spent the weekend staying up way late trying to figure out how we could best set up the mission house that is on our church property. I don't think that the process of selling and moving could have gone any better than it did. Syndi and I had plenty of help from friends. So I am officially accepted into school, our house is sold, God has allowed us to get rid of all our school debt from Cedarville, and God continues to bless. Going back to school and downsizing is such a good reminder of how UNimportant our earthly posessions really are. I am glad that my wife is willing to make the sacrifice to go back to school and help me get through Seminary. Our prayer now is that God will direct Syndi to the right job. We are praying that she can get a job at Liberty University - I will be able to take all my classes free!!! That would be awesome! Thanks all for your prayers, we'll continue to update on our move! | | |
