| Hello all, time for a new post. So, today was the NFL draft. I've been told by those I live with that this should become a national holiday. I'm not sure if that's a good idea, but I'll take it under advisement. I didn't really even watch much of the draft. I ended up looking every once in a while just to see who the Packers picked. Speaking of the Packers, I was impressed that they got a quarterback with their first round pick. If this quarterback had not been a projected top 5 pick, I might have questioned Mike Sherman (since I live in Green Bay and obviously Mike and I are tight...well, maybe not) about this decision. I was a little hazy on the two clowns they took in the 2nd round, but to each his own.
My life hasn't been very exciting since the last time I posted. Let's see, I did my governmental accounting group project with my group Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This project was perhaps the most incredibly tortuous project I've ever done. It was only a 20 page paper, but it was a statistical anaylsis, which basically means I have to explain a bunch of ratios I had to figure out from information provided to me by a municipality's (Brookfield's) financial reports. Needless to say, these ratios were not very exciting. They ranged from Total General Fund Revenues/Total General Fund Expenditures to the Even more mundane Total General Fund and Major Special Revenue Fund Expenditures/Total Expenditures. I apologize to all of you that have no stinking clue what I'm talking about...I got caught up in the rhapsody that is accounting.
I can't really think of any other exciting happenings over the past couple weeks. I did hear that Jordan Peck ran over a skunk on his first driving lesson with his dad. Sometimes that boy makes me so (sob) proud. I'll give the same advice to Jordan as my driving instructor, Peter Schmirler (something like that), gave to me..."Aim for the butt." It may sound somewhat hilarious at first, but it's honestly a good policy. Think of it this way, if an animal jumps out in front of you, you'd might as well aim for the back end so if it moves you might miss it. Now if aiming for the backside involves swerving into oncoming traffic or perhaps going off a bridge into a river or something, this strategy is best avoided. Just a tip for you there Jord ;).
I would also like to congratulate Cardinal Ratzinger on your new title. Yeah, being pope has to be cool. I ran, but couldn't pull out a win in the end. So keep it real Benedict XVI, you're my boy! (if you feel like sending down some of those holy blessings, feel free...I know you have some pull with the Big Guy, if you know what I mean)
Well, time for me to go waste some time playing a mindless computer game. Until next time, this is the Amazing Midget Tosser, signing off. - Albuquerque (This one's for you Geoff) | | |
| Wow, it's been a while since I posted anything on this. It's 1:43 in the morning right now, and I should really be going to bed, but I really don't feel tired. I didn't have any accounting to do tonight, so I feel kinda strange, like I should be doing something right now. But enough of accounting, that's the last thing I want to think about right now. My weekend was all right. I had an interview with SmithBarney for a summer internship on Friday and I got the job if I want it. So I'm looking forward to getting some good experience in the field of finance. I didn't do much else this weekend besides relax at home. This week is the first week in a while that I won't be swamped with homework and tests. I do have two tests this week, but neither is bad. I have a "Food and Nutritional Health" test this week (go ahead and laugh, it fulfills a gen ed). I also have a Management Information Systems test that I really need to try to get motivated for (Yeah Right). I also have an Advance Accounting II test next Monday, so bye-bye weekend, I'll miss you. I'm not looking forward to that test at all. I can't wait to be done with Financial Accounting. It's not that I'm bad at it, it's more that my professor is a pain. He has the bad habit of throwing in little "monkey wrenches" into our problems on each test. Needless to say, most of us can't figure out what's going on after that and get frustrated. Once again, enough of accounting. I really can't wait for summer. This semester is dragging pretty bad right now. And I still have two years of school left...ugh. I just want to get my 150 credits, pass the CPA, and go work. Enough complaining though. Well, I'm going to bed now. I'll post something later this week, probably on Thursday or Friday. | | |
| Ah, my first weblog posting. I honestly have no idea what I should write about. I could write about some profound subject or about some boring thing I read, but I think I'll write about something YOU ALL want to know about...my day. So today (August 12, 2004) wasn't too exciting. I'm done with work now until school starts (except for some work I'm doing at church) so I have extra time during my day. So I got up around 8:30 this morning, took a shower, put my contacts in, got dressed, made my bed...the basics. So I then sat down at my wonderful computer and proceeded to check my email. After deleting my nearly 20 spam emals, most of which consisted of things such as "Do You Need A Home Loan" or "Get Your Unverified Visa" and "Want to see my private webcam?", I proceeded to look at my real email. Nothing exciting, just a flyer from Best Buy. So then I looked at my school email, which of course had nothing in it. I then proceeded to look at my fantasy baseball teams, all of which consistently lose even though I have good players, just my luck. Finally I checked the news and I was off to make food. So I looked in the fridge and found some leftover pizza, which was actually very good (it was Red Baron Pizzaria Style). So then I proceeded to waste nearly 2 hours playing Sim Golf. Sim Golf is a game where you build and can actually play your own golf course. My course is up to 16 holes and I'm making tons of cash. After this I sent out some emails to professors, checked to see how much my books would cost, and did some other mindless things. At this time it was about 3:30 and I was off to a doctor appointment. I love doctor appointments. Everytime I have an appointment, I go in, the doctor checks my blood pressure, checks my breathing, asks me if everything's okay, and sends me to go get my blood taken for some random tests he likes to do. So I drive 30 minutes down to the a clinic on Highway 100 just north of I-94 for a 15 minute doctor appointment. So then I came home, ate some dinner, played some baseball on my ps2, and watched the football game. Then my sister came into my room (which is kinda like a "mini living room") and wanted to use my computer. Being the nice guy that I am, I said that she could use it to look some stuff up on the net. Then she started playing my .wav files of Office Space, and then she wanted to watch the movie. So we watched Office Space and she went to bed. Now, I'm watching Sportscenter cause there's nothing else on. I have 70 channels and still I can't find anything that peaks my interest (as my ADD kicks in). I'll post another blog in the next few days, so keep watching. | | |
