    For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

  • Relay for Life was such a huuuuge success!! I had fun that day.. a little too much fun.. 0=) keke.  A lot of walking.. eating.. sports.. and SUN! ANNND I scored two touchdowns in football!!!

    Team 1: $1300+
    Team 2: $600+
    Offline donations: $100+
    TOTAL MONEY RAISED: $2000+
    .. and this does not include the money from the club event either!

    I'm soo proud! We were one of the top teams too! It feels so rewarding to have been in charge of something that made a difference and was successful. Thank you to all who donated, you guys will receive something special soon! Also, I appreciate all my KDPhi sisters who participated and supported me. Love you, guys!


    In Relay Jail, it was sooo HOT during the day but freeeeeeezing at night.

    These Luminaria bags were laid out all around the track we walked on. Each bag represents an individual that is currently battling cancer, have lost their life to cancer, or have survived from cancer.


    One of my favorite pictures during the Luminaria ceremony... it was very touching. Everyone has to experience this! I strongly encourage everyone to form a team and participate in a Relay for Life near you!

    Last weekend I volunteered at a Women and Children’s Shelter with my sorority. This is where I met ‘Hanah with one N.’  

    We were there to host a birthday party for all the kids. Keep in mind that this is a shelter for them-they are there under protective services! We weren’t permitted to take any pictures with them because it could possibly give away their location. Normally, I'm not comfortable working with kids, but this time I LOVED it. Their smiles definitely made my year. It amazedddddd me how they were in such high spirits given the unfortunate (very unfortunate  ) circumstances they were in.  was sad during the party, it devastated me to even think that these young, innocent children had to go through (..and currently going through) SUCH DIFFICULT TIMES.

    There was one that left such a huge impact on me, imprints on my heart, I swear.  I was in charge of nametags and she came up to me and proudly announced, “I’m Hanah with one N,” and shot me a smile.  And not just any smile… THE biggest, brightest smile in the universe. A smile that made you feel and understand her happiness, her gratitude, her everythinggggg. I’ve never encountered such a smile that displayed so much feeling. In spite of everything she's going through.. a full on smile she was able to give me.

    She made my heart melt.. 

    Just led me to contemplate… if she can appreciate, why can't we?

  • I remember Kristina sent me this story a realllly long time ago. I never forgot it. =)


    Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband were invited to spend the weekend at the husband's employer's home. My friend, Arlene, was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and cars costing more than her house. 

    The first day and evening went well, and Arlene was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. The husband's employer was quite generous as a host, and took them to the finest restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying herself immensely. 

    As the three of them were about to enter an exclusive restaurant that evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of Arlene and her husband. He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment. 

    Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped, and a few cigarette butts. Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny. 

    He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure. How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up? 

    Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her. Finally, she could stand it no longer. She causally mentioned that her daughter once had a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value. 

    A smile crept across the man's face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it out for her to see. She had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this? 

    "Look at it." He said. "Read what it says." 

    She read the words "United States of America." 

    "No, not that; read further." 

    "One cent?" "No, keep reading." 

    "In God we Trust?" "Yes!" "And?" 

    "And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever I find a coin I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him? Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray, I stop to see if my trust IS in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God; that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God's way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful! 

    When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up, and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I cannot change. I read the words, "In God We Trust," and had to laugh. Yes, God, I get the message. 

    It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful! 

    And, God is patient...



    It's funny.. =) Anytime I'm filled with sorrow I come upon pennies. Makes me smile. It's wonderrful!! coins .






    Believe in this fate God entrusted in us; we will all LOVE AND BE LOVED!!! NO MATTER WHAT! Teehehe. Okay, back to studying!!
