What a week - Rash, Basketball, Jenny Craig, Anniversary fast approaching

What a week it has been.... a long week... Last Thursday, I had a severe rash all over my face, I thought nothing of it on Friday as I thought.. I may be really stressed out.. Saturday it worsened and I went to the Urgent Care.. the Doctor couldn't tell what it was.. it was like Dejavu all over again from 3 years ago (I'll spare you the details) but he prescribed me with 10 days worth of antibiotics.. Sunday  it was still bad and Monday I had to use my hair to cover part of my face so people won't think that I had huge scars on my face.. anyway, on Monday, Jason and I went and bought some aveeno face soap and hydrocortisone (1%) and it has helped together with the antibiotics.. today I only have a little bit of rash left.. I am hoping it will be all gone by Sunday (our wedding anniversary)

Basketball has been intense lately in the playoffs.. so far no one except Detroit has won a road game.... I still think the Lakers will win the Championship this year despite everyones hatred of Kobe.

Last week I lost another 2.1 lbs and hopefully I'll lose 2.5 this week...though I haven't been working out as hard as I did last week, I have been maintaining what I eat.. so hopefully I'll be fine...

This weekend is going to be a lot of eating out, i.e. not Jenny Craig food.

Friday night, I'll be cooking a dinner for some friends and family.

Saturday night, going out with some friends

and Sunday of course Jason and I are  going to Kianti's for our wedding anniversary.. I am taking Monday off too... so that'll be nice... probably won't party till the crack of dawn.. but still will stay up later than usual...

Update!!

It's been so long since I've last updated my blog.....Last week was a blur and this week has been so busy.. I am starting to feel a definitely a career change in the near future..... but I'll stop complaining for now and go to the important stuff...

Jason and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary.... It seems like yesterday we got married and here it is 5 years later.... I am planning to cook him and a couple of our friends dinner on the Friday night before our wedding anniversary....I haven't cooked a meal for anyone EVER.. so this is either going to taste really nice or really horrible.... Jason does all the cooking so this is a way to show how much I appreciate him and give him a rest day of cooking... I was thinking some type of chicken with cous cous, garlic bread and greek salad...the two options I was thinking of doing were:

Buttermilk baked chicken (see below)

or Cornflake crusted baked chicken (see below)

For dessert it will be between apple pie ala mode or boston cream pie and appetizers I'll probably buy...

All comments are welcomed!!

Interesting week to say the least - lockdown, power outtage, Warriors lost, etc.

So I  haven't blogged in the longest time.. mostly lazy and bored to post one sentence lines... Anyway, this week has certainly been interesting.. the week started out slow and what looked like a long dreary week ahead then bam.. on Wednesday, we had a lockdown in the building because a crazy man went to one of the County departments to claim that he wanted all his "stuff" back and that he had a gun.. some thought it was a joke, but it wasn't.. scenes of that crazy psycho back in the late 90s where he went crazy, killed his kids, his wife and then went on a rampage at his work and killed most of his co-workers cross my mind....  within 50 minutes, they caught him.. you would think that since we have like a bazillion sheriffs chit chatting at the metal detector entrance to the court, that one of them would get off their lazy butt and look for this guy.. anyway, they caught him.. on Thursday, at about 9:00 a.m. the power went out.. almost 2 hours later with everyone sitting  around the fake bonfire of a lamp and NOT singing kumbaya... it was back to work.. the least they could have done was let us leave.. but once again. that didn't happen so now we are here on Friday.. so far it has been pretty uneventful.. slow.. .the weekend is almost here.. with 1 hour and 40 minutes left, I am looking forward to my 3 o'clock walk with my ex -supervisor and then home.... it's really pretty outside...

The Warriors lost last night.. in their own home court .. THEIR OWN HOME COURT!!! how is this possible?? sloppiness.. I am afraid that they might not make it into the playoffs but I can only hope that they win all three games and that the Denver Nuggets lose at least 2 games to make it even... or lose all 3 games...What a dissapointing night..

Time for Friday Five:

1. What song frequently gets stuck in your head?

Come on Eileen... I forget what group sang it , they were from the 90s.. and I hated that song, but lately I am coming to like it.. hypnotism?? I think not...

2. Choose one line from a song that sums up your life thus far.

Take a few chances, lay it all out - I don't know what the name of this song is, it's a Christian song though...

3. Do you have one all-time favorite song (if so, what is it?) or do you skip around?
this is a hard one to answer, I'd say I skip around...

4. How do you listen to music most often (pod, radio, etc)?

radio in the car.... that's about it..

5. American Idol: fantastic show or overrated?

It use to be a fantastic show but now I think it's overrated.. Paula Abdul seems like she's either drugged or insanely weird...

Weekend of somewhat relaxation

So my Saturday morning spa was in a word "WONDERFULTASTIC"... is that a word?? if it isn't I am making it an unofficial word.. and no I am not letting the people at Webster's Dictionary know....

I woke up pretty excited.... took a shower... (I wanted to be sure I didn't smell funny to the people who were going to pamper me for 2 hours) and then took off....

The spa is in Watsonville and is on the street right off where I use to work...

I started with the facial... one hour and 4 masks and steam later.. I felt ready for my 1 hour massage..  OH MY GOODNESS.. the message was SOOOOO good... I was so relaxed..... nothing but me, massage and sleep for at least 30 minutes..

Afer we had greek food and then a movie from Blockbuster.. stocked up on some household essentials and then headed home for the evening...

On Sunday, we went to church, got lunch, shopping for groceries and then home for the perfect movie marathon on Lifetime while simultaneously trying to watch the Lakers v. Mavs on ABC and then at 6:00 the Warriors were playing Trail Blazers.. which the Warriors won by the way.. it was absolutely a fantastic way to end the weekend...

Well.. it's lunch time.. at least half of Monday is gone...

Zippadidoda.. the weekend's here

The weekend couldn't come at a better time.. I am tired..TIRED... this week  I have been SO busy at work that on Wednesday I almost wanted to scream in the middle of doing my work... I was just so frustrated....All that's behind me now thank God for awhile at least... My boss is going to take 2 weeks for Spring Break.. I am not sure how I am going to handle the "idle" time I'll have... it'll be nice but at the same time rather boring.. will cross that bridge when we get to it.. still have two more weeks..

Tomorrow, I am having a spa morning.... Jason got me a spa package deal for Valentine's Day.. It's one hour body and foot message with dead sea scrub and a one hour facial... I am excited and looking forward to the 2 hours of just taking care of myself and away from this thing called "every day life" for 2 hours...

I feel that I must mention basketball in this post.....  As an avid basketball fan. the Western Conference has been CRAZY... the recent trade of Pau Gasol - Lakers, Shaq- Suns and Jason Kidd-Mavs???? all by the way from some of the worst teams..are now energizing these Western teams that were good but are now 10 times better.... Who will win?? Does Golden State even have a chance to go to round 2?? Questions, questions... meanwhile the eastern conference seems dull, monotenous and sluggish... so the Western Conference is just a breath of fresh air... I think it's either the Lakers, Mavs,(maybe Hornets and Suns), Celtics or Detroit.. I don't think Spurs have the repeat in them....

Anyway, I haven't done Friday Five in the longest time.. so here goes:

01. What types of portable audio devices do you use?

None.. I use to be CRAZY about listening to music way back in the day.. these days.. I only listen to music when I am driving back and forth to work.. if I remember sometimes.. I'll listen to my IPOD..

02. What format of music do you listen to most often?

what?? format?? CD I guess...... none of these iTunes nonsense..
03. How do you get your electronic music files? (pay service [i.e Napster, iTunes, eMusic, etc.], file sharing, artist/label web sites, etc.)

Well, I use to LOVE Napster, back when it was free... until stupid musicians i.e. the drummer from Mettalica decided it wasn't cool to "steal" songs... these days.. I get any song I want through Youtube.

04. What type of headphones do you use?

I don't use headphone..

05. What is currently on your portable music player that you are using? (Post artist, album title, please.)

didn't we already cover this?? I don't really know..

Have a great weekend!!!
