| this post is for all of you who always worried about me not taking care of my injuries. I have finally...its only been 2.5 yrs!!!...decided to go through with surgery to repair my broken right wrist. I will be missing work on tues and probably wed on short-term dissability as I will be having the surgery tuesday morning. Trust me, I am not looking forward to it, but my nerves are more for having to wear a cast for up to 6 weeks and not being able to play basketball with the guys at work for that time (among many other sports) and the rehab that follows. Originally, they were going to take some bone out of my hip to graft into my wrist (extremely painful and two sights of surgery), but now they are just going to take a piece of my arm bone about an inch above my scaphoid (broken bone in my wrist). That limits the pain, allows me to be able to walk, and makes me more functional overall. Anyway, I am heading out for the day...I need to take advantage of my last two days before gimpness takes over!!! Everyone take care and I miss you all :). | | |
| Man, it has been a long time, but too much has happened to not submit. For those that don't know, I am now officially gradiated from USC and have a job working for the biotechnology company Amgen. I truly was lucky in getting this job. They were the only company that gave me an interview and the only company I truly wanted to work for out of the dozens I submitted my resume to. I began work on the 12th of December (4 days after my last final, you cannot believe how surprised and excited i was to start that soon, especially with 6 paid holidays coming in two weeks for xmas/new years). I was truly worried that I would be jobless so I am very thankful. The job is going well. A ton of training and will continue until the end of May!!! I enjoy the company, benefits, coworkers and job in general. As an added bonus, we are having a huge party tonight at a country club. Amgen is covering all of the drinks, food, and everything else we do. I am truly looking forward to it. Other than that, I have found an apartment and roommate in the Thousand Oaks area cutting down the commute from the worst 2hr rush hour drive to 15 min.
I was able to make it to colorado and utah to visit family and friends for the holidays, but....am sad to say I didn't get up to ski after all that great snowfall. My best buddy and I did go on a snow hike in Utah though. It was amazing. Once we got to our knees (waist off of the trail) in snow we decided to turn back. Normally we would keep going but we were both in shorts so the snow was starting to scratch our legs up. Also, we came across an abandoned tent (collapsed and broken under the snow) and hiking bag so that was creepy, and yet interesting.
Hmmm, on a more downer note, my dad and I went to the Rose Bowl. The game was so exciting that I wouldn't have traded the tickets for anything. To think that my dad and I were thinking of selling them! I didn't really want to, but the money would have been nice. The game itself was just amazing in person, even though some poor coaching decisions cost us the game we had in hand. It took me a long time to recover from the loss, but USC is my team and I know we will be back there soon! To top off the night, I may be in NCAA 2007. The EA sports crew filmed us saying their slogan and then pumping up USC...my possible 5 seconds of fame!
Well, this is long enough, and I am sure no one will read it, but I just wanted to let everyone know what's going on. I hope to hear from ya'll soon!! Take care and have a great year :).

| - Who's going to ride your white horses Well, as you all know, I don't post much, but this is some pretty exciting stuff . I had the pleasure of visiting Russell up in Santa Cruz over the 4th of July weekend, and it was a blast! I got to see Alice attempt, unsuccessfully, to ride a bicycle, which was unfortunate because the three of us were going to go for a ride. Instead, we went on a pretty nice hike through a forest (redwoods and other trees). Well, the next day, Russell taught me how to drive a dirt motorcycle!!! How cool is that? It was so much fun. I learned surprisingly fast, so he, his brother and I just rode around on his property. Alice was out there taking pics for a little while, but decided to go inside when she wasn't able "to take pics when I crashed." We all thought it was best to not teach her, considering the bicycle problems of the day before, so she was on her own for the afternoon . I am excited to say that I got a full foot or two of air off of a mound which isn't much after watching Russell and his bro tearing up the place, getting huge air...whatever, i just started!!! hehe, but they were very impressive. I had two mishaps, one was going down a hill, I accidentally hit the front tire break causing the bike to slide down, which I just stepped off with no problems. Then, shortly after, Russell's bro took me on a section I probably shouldn't have been on just yet, but I went anyway. I was trying to get up a steep hill, but hit too much gas and didn't lean far enough forward, so my front came up almost flipping me over backward, but luckily I stepped off and swung the bike around (which their dad commended me on my instincts ) so no damage could be done. Anyway, it was a great experience and I look forward to another opportunity in the future. The rest of the day was spent in the swimming pool that they had. We were just goofing around, having water fights, sitting in the hottub, just very fun and relaxing. Then, that evening, Alice, Russell and I went to a drive in movie. I haven't been to one in a long time, but a lot better deal than the theaters around here. It was $8 for a double feature where we saw War of the Worlds (not too bad, but a bit of a copout at the end) and the Longest Yard (hilarious! i recommend it). Then Monday was the day we had to come back to LA so I could get to the lab on Tues, but Russell took us to the beach and boardwalk. We walked along a cliff to a lighthouse with a surfers museum. Then off to the boardwalk, which is an amusement park right on the coast! It turned out to be a beautiful day, so walking along the beach was amazing, and then riding the rides while watching the people and waves was just surreal. So, we said our goodbyes from there and Alice and I planned the drive pretty well. We were able to see fireworks on the road and got into LA without too much traffic. So, I believe that the weekend was very worth posting about. I hope and trust that everyone is having a great summer and talk to me soon . Take care. | | |

No better time to post than now. Ironically enough, my best fit city is the one my parents live in. I have to say that I could find myself living there, but only after moving with some friends. Well, finals are OVER!!!! (for me ) I am dead tired, but it has been an overall good semester. Take care and good luck to those still in the midst of their exams! | | |
