anytime tomorrow, preferably late at night, perferably with something good to read to me or an interesting story, as i'll be driving...

so yesterday dawned the day of laminant.  bob told us he was planning on laying some and asked if anyone wanted to help him aka, asked if anyone wanted to learn how to lay laminant.  i jumped.  so monday morning i found myself heading out and feeling quite manly :)

i stopped at starbucks...because...i NEEDED some coffee.  and bob is not known for taking breaks from the job and i knew this would be my last chance to have anything to drink or eat for several hours.  when i ordered my drink the casher said "you look like you're dressed for some hard work".  when all the girls behind the counter found out i was going to learn how to lay flooring, they practically appluaded.  they were very proud of womankind yesterday.

so the real work began.  it (not to my supprise) is not rocket science, but there's a lot of detial work in it, which makes it challanging.  i enjoyed hearing bob use such colorful phrases as "you've just got to manhandle these sometimes," and whatever that meant, it didn't always work...but i think it helped morale :)  after we were about halfway done, bob said my grade was a b, but i would be an a soon.  i told him c was a passing grade, so i was happy.  than the landlord came in.  he looked at the floor and said "i thought they were going to be layed the other way" (vertical as opposed to horzional)  i wanted to lunge at him, but bob said something about how we weren't laying hardwood and blah blah blah, and soothed the guy.

5.5 hours later, we were finished.  not too bad i though.  and now i know how to lay laminant.  never know when you'll need that skill.

in other news, we are still waiting to find out about the house.  for thsoe of you who might not know, we put a bid in on a house we want to buy and fix up to rent out as in investment.  everyone found out what a great deal it was at the same time, so the bank said to have all bids in friday by five and they would make a decision on monday.  (justin needs to be medicated he's such a basket case about it!)  he kept calling me when i was with bob yesterday and giving us the not updates.  bob implied that he was layed back.  i said i would describe him as more high strung.  bob said "when he was 18 he was so layed back"  i said "that's caz of all the pot he was smoking!!!  it's worn off by now" :)  bob thought that was pretty funny.

also, i'm considering giving lost a chance.  maybe.  does anyone have season 1 i could borrow?
