A New Year

A time for reflections as we start the new year and what better way to do so then to recap the last. 2007 was a great year I'd say, filled with new fond memories.. trying times and a whole lot of God rocking Jeff's world... let's take a look..

some friends from the desert wanted to say hi and helped us celebrate the holidays.

Is it too late to say Merry Christmas??

That's it in a nutshell.. 2007 was a year full of learning to trust and rejoice in God.. It was definitely good, but I welcome in 2008.

Since it's been awhile, small update from out here in the desert... Thing are going well and time is FLYING by! With the holidays behind us now, I can't believe I've already hit the half way mark and in early Feb be HOME for R&R.. (I expect to eat lost of Korean BBQ btw). I have received many care packages and cards from all you guys and I want to thank everybody for sending their support out this way. The little things go a loong way and I definitely want to thank you personally when I return..

Happy new years everybody, let the good times roll in 2008.

blisters.

New kicks (boots)

+

Lots of walking

= Holes in my feet

Here's the thing, I got small blisters on each of my big toes. Normally we're taught to leave it alone and not touch blisters but if you have to, to just drain them. I don't operate like that though.. I can't help but to mess with it and ended up cutting the skin. The blisters ended up not too large but actually really DEEP.  BOOO .. I think deep blisters are worse than large blisters.

Pics to come....

Now that I've settled into my room a little bit .. although I don't have all my things here I'm going to give shout outs to things I've received since I've been out here.. Yummy treats sent by Teresa.. and a post card sent by Kiara.

There was a lot more food that was sent, but most of it has been eaten up by yours truly and the photo is goign to be hung up shortly. Thank you all for the emails that have been sent too, I'd post them up too but that's just not possible. Today is Sunday I'm going to check out the gospel service I went to last week, it was extremely different but learned a great deal from it.. thanks!

Jeff

uncertainty.

edit: the saga ends: The final words is that I'm staying right where I'm at and not moving anywhere. I've been in limbo for awhile now but I think I can safely say that I'm staying right where I'm at. I'm going to play an important role in insuring communications at our company so I'm happy with what I'll be doing..  All I have to do now is figure out how I'm gonna get my stuff shipped back to me. So... now that I'm settle.. I'm going to make a wish list of all things I can't buy out here and hope to be sent to me, hello friends. =) address below.

I've been in country for a few weeks now and still haven't made it up to our permanent site. I'm beginning to believe that I'll be on this base for the next year. I've left it open to my platoon sergeant to decide where I'm best suited and where he feels as though I'm can best serve. I'm not going to fight it anymore. I'll have a decent job here and the life here is not bad at all.

I've received yummy snacks and a postcard from friends at home and it really makes me smile to receive them.. I hate to say this.. but for now, please don't send anything to any address. I have no idea where I'll be in the near future. I just got back one of my footlockers and it had photos from way back in my HS days..  I'm reminded of how blessed I am with friends, old and new and new relationships I'm building out here.

Take care ya'll, I'll let you know when my location is decided.

Jeff
