The university professor challenged his students with this question. Did God create everything that exists?
A student bravely replied yes, he did!"
"God created everything?" The professor asked.
"Yes, sir," the student replied.
The professor answered, "If God created everything, then God created evil since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are then God is evil."
The student became quiet before such an answer.
The professor was quite pleased with himself and boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth.

Another student raised his hand and said, "Can I ask you a question professor?" "Of course", replied the professor. The student stood up and asked, "Professor, does cold exist?"
"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?" The students snickered at the young man's question.
The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Everybody and every object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (- 460 degrees F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have too little heat.

The student continued. "Professor, does darkness exist?
The professor responded, "Of course it does".
The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact we can use Newton's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."

Finally the young man asked the professor. "Sir, does evil exist?"
Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course as I have already said. We see it every day. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. "These manifestations are nothing else but evil."
To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love, that exist just as does light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light."
The professor sat down.
thnx for sharing minh-quan

Though it seems that I have ditched my xanga, this is not so! I still think of it periodically and sometimes fantasize about posting... HA HA In any case, I can not begin this year correctly without my end of the year post. I'm feeling kinda lazy right now, so just wait for it :P

I know... it's February and I've yet to complete my new years post -_- Here's a start... lol

07 Resolutions (i've found mine are more similar to goals... oh well!)
- NO SODA (not like i drink it much, but cutting it out completely = :D)
- Take and rape the LSATs
- Bring back the Deustch!
- more to come...

Ok, I couldn't really come up with any meaningful resolutions/goals this year... I just really don't know what to expect in the further right now >.<

06 Resolutions
- get spiffy in photoshop *check
- take and rape LSATs; apply to Yale +carryover
- become official Huynh Truong for TNTT +carryover
- win position in A.S. or MCC *check
- become president of UCSD VSA *check
- be a PC @ Agape *check

So I forgot about most of my resolutions/goals last year, but when I dug them back fro my post last year, I was like *_* Pretty satisfied that I was able to complete 4 of 6 of those... I mean I suppose percentage wise it's not so great, but the things I acheived, hey, I think I deserve a pat on the back :P *pats back* In any case, we'll see how things go this year. I have a vague hunch that it's going to be similar to when I graduated high school... not good >.< especially since they don't have community college to go to law school ha ha

...still incomplete, bug me to finish!

In other words, gluck on your finals summer session I peeps!

Now just a random plug... it's the Pope last summer at World Youth Day in Cologne/Koln, Germany and that's a Vietnamese Flag (I'll point out the fact that I don't consider it the "South Viet Nam Flag") in the background that was broadcast to the entire world. This is a reminder that we, the Vietnamese, are not a dead breed. 30 years after the war, our flag continues to fly, not in discrete and invisible places, but in places like this, in back of an international figure. I look at this picture and I just get the most proud feeling ever (it's the best way i could put it). Understand it. Remember it. Live for it.

Yes… it is a xanga post by aBs… it has definitely been a long time ha ha I blame it on my laziness!!! Funny thing is, I uploaded the pics and everything for another blog during finals week or something… I just got lazy >.< In any case, this blog will only be an overview of my Spring Quarter activities… as much as I can remember anyways :P I’ll make a summer update soon enough! …hopefully sooner than it took for me to get this one going… ha ha

So the first VSA GBM was organized by yours truly!!! I think it was much better than the first one I tried the quarter before, lol Um, if you guys forget what happened here… just remember KHOI MI! ha ha That is, the story of khoi mi, why we eat it, the khoi mi game, and the banh khoi mi ha ha It was all about the, yes, khoi mi during that meeting ha ha Fun times :P In any case, we went off to Pho Convoy afterwards to eat to thank them for sponsoring our culture night! So there was some dude some people were talking to and I had no idea who the heck it was no did I care… then, I found out it was DAT PHAN from last comic standing!!! ha ha… he went around giving us business cards if we wanted to hire him -_- ha ha Well, I could careless about him, but as always, he is some sort of a celebrity and I took a picture with him!!! ha ha So cool… you all need to go to our freaking after socials to meet celebrities!!! lol

Me n’ Dat

“the gang” :P

That weekend CHESS, Rach’s sis, came down to UCSD with some friends to check it out *GOOO TRITONS!* …even though she chose Berkeley, which is perfectly fine:] It was admit day so I was at the VSA booth for a lil bit… f’ing Marshall College put up a COMMUNIST FLAG during their stupid cultural fair or whatever, dumbwhores… I’ll fix that next year… yada yada yada… after all the fun, here’s a bad picture taken w/ 10-second delay on top of my car :P

Thanks to some cool people, we put on a Human Trafficking Symposium… even though it wasn’t really like a symposium, lol But all good. We were able to attract a good amount of people, a good chunk of non-Viets! And we were able, with the help of VietACT, educate them on the issue. *yay* for us being activists :D I think it was Hoang who put in most of the work, eh? *yay* for Hoang! …later at a party, non-sober Thao-Chi would cry over human trafficking :P

Then April 13 was Jaclene’s bday! *yay* for turning 20… she had a party for us… lol No seriously, she bought food and cooked for us, wtheck??? That makes no sense, huh??? Well hope you enjoyed you time… and I hope you enjoyed my present, ha ha

Karaoke…

That Saturday I went back to NorCal: I FREAKING DROVE. Went up with Nancy, Kim, Toan, and Thuy An... quite a fun ride w/ those folks :] Anyways, my purpose was going up to see the Berkeley VSA show… as I’ve repeated many many times: their show was not on part this year… and actually, I could almost say that it sucked. LOL ok ok, it didn’t suck ass, it just wasn’t great… may belike, satisfactory… kinda? lol but compared to the last 2 years, no competition… not even close… >.< Good job to Kim-Mai and John nonetheless :] Oh yeah, so coincidentally, the APA Conference was that same day in Berkeley! Too bad the culture night was during the day time otherwise I woulda been able to attend the entire conference :-/ But yeah, went to Easter mass that night… and ended up sleeping in my car :-/ Phone died so had to go on AIM and facebook to communicate with Nancy! lol We’re HI-larious… and now we’re brotha and sista, ha ha Go sister Nancy!!! When I got home Sunday, waited for parents to come home from church to eat… Easter = end of lent = I COULD EAT MEAT AGAIN!!! OMG you don’t understand how happy I was… ha ha Graciously my parents brought home thit heo quay at the request of my lil bro *highfive* so yummy… :]

The friends I ran into/hung out with @ Cal… except Andre was running around so I didn’t get a pic of him :-/ (from top l=>r) Bap, John, & Biah (bottom l=>r) Kim-Mai, Me, Quy, & Tram

YES, it’s the meat ^_^ sooo GOOOOD!!!

During Muirstock, I BBQ’s for like, 2 hours or so, ha ha And *yay* cause I learned how to grill burgers hecka better w/ the help of Mister Vince :] He’s way cool! And indeed, I had 2 double cheeseburgers oozing with grease… tasty… afterwards I went home I believe, then I came back and met up w/ some folks and went to the concert… we kinda skipped everything and got back in time Lit :] ha ha I got a VIP pass from David for BBQ’ing, but freaking I HAD NO IDEA the meet and greet session was before the concert -_- So I didn’t get to meet them! *booooooo* :-/ Aw well… supposedly they’re coming out with a new album? They played a new song… it wasn’t crackin’… ha ha We’ll see if they make a come back, eh? I brought Stephan and his friend to get pearl tea afterwards, his first ever, and drove em home.

That’s the lead singer and the guitar pick I got :] ^_^

Late night, but I still had to wake up bright and early to get to school by like, 8am or something for the American Pie program I signed up for. The program does stuff to educate us on the “different slices of American pie”… meaning culture and stuff, ha ha This one was the one on the state of the Mexican border conflict and different aspects of it. Surprisingly, the most interesting part was the protection of the natural lands there, not whether or not they should build it. You know me, I’m a total tree hugger, I hate it when the environment gets destroyed senselessly!!! But right now, it’s hopeless as plans to finish the fence are on its way and looks like a good chunk of the park will get bulldozed over >.< In any case, we pulled weeds and planted some natural plants, went to the border park, friendship park I believe it was called… it was supposed to show the friendship between the US and Mexico and citizens from both sides could come over before the fence was there… now the monument that stood for friendship is split by a gate >.< Don’t get me wrong, I’m in favor of a gate, just the way they’re building it is what disturbs me. Very educational day though, I learned a lot of crud and made a lot of friends (because I went alone :P)

The “fence” …there were so many holes in it, literally, my friend walked through it to Mexico, lol

The American Pie crew after weeding and planting native California plants! ha ha :]

SHACK IN THE BOX!!! ha ha Habitat for Humanities annual fundraisor… I was in heading this with Thanh and came up with a Chua Mot Cot design… see it for yourself :D We ended up winning 2nd (in donations; the other group went around getting donations! *boooo* …we’re doing that next year :P) as well as most enthusiastic!!! ha ha *yay* for VSA ^_^

COOL, HUH???

Then of course: 30/4… Black April, the day Saigon fell… our club hosted an event for this with speakers and stuff… :-/… the thought still makes me sad… but cool that our club could do this :]

That weekend was the community commemoration for Black April and although my dance didn’t pull through, we ended up having a small singing group :P

SUN GOOOOOOOOOOD Ok, oh boy… this definitely lived up to the hype for me. I mean I know some people were disappointed/disgusted, but I had an AWESOME time! Everyone was drunk (not me) and there were so many people on campus walking around and HAVING FUN, ha ha ha I spent most of the daylight @ the VSA booth selling sandwiches with the gang :] I was also twirling the VSA surfboard like those guys in the street… ha ha ha lol… Lisa, you are HILARIOUS!!! It was freaking fun though… at night I hung out w/ drunken Aleli and Brianne and we watched the concert... although I left before My Chemical Romance cause I could care less, lol Cypress Hill was wtfack??? And Talib Kwali is quite cool :D

See the emotion??? ha ha

The next day… yes… on very little sleep, was CULTURE NIGHT!!! ha ha Yeah, everybody and their mama was late to practice >.< Um, yea, we were tired, we ate a bunch of junk, and we put on a show, ha ha Prop to everyone and Thao-Chi for pulling it off! We were hecka afraid in the early process of the show cause we were all lost… but *woot WOOT* We came out to be hotshots! *yay* for a fabulous show… so much better than UCLA’s and Berkeley’s… ha ha :P I’m not hating! I’m just sayin’ :P Had food then little after party… I took Van home, the guy, who was belligerently drunk… he bark out of my car… but it was more like on my car o_O ha ha I literally shoved his head outside when I noticed him about to puke, ha ha *phew* So much better outside than inside… ha ha

Look at us hotties! (Hang, Sheila, & I)

The pretty ladies of VSA… I think most of them are single… I believe so… actually, I have no idea guys, ha ha

The Monday after, I went clamming w/ Duy, Nina, Toan, and Zulma… it was crazy! Dig your feet in the ground and they were everywhere!!! …I was dumb enough to bring my cell phone… stupid whore, I swear… so yeah, it was the cause of me not having a cell phone for what it seemed like forever >.<

HUMUNGOUS, HUH???

VSA ELECTIONS!!! Indeed… it was time to vote for the new cab… boy was it nerve-wrecking… I mean I wasn’t all crazy, but I was definitely afraid of failure, but I did my all to overcome it! I ran against Kevin and Tony. I made up this short Viet song (totally original!), a lil rap (ha ha ha), and I was gunna twirl the VSA surfboard. Had my entire speech planned out, but they didn’t do speeches -_- OMG, wtheck??? In any case, I only got to present part of my rap, ha ha I hope you all liked it! Nothing wonderful, but I’m sure it was funny, ha ha In any case, after waiting forever… we finally got the results… and I received a perfect vote to get exactly 55% of the votes to win without a cabinet runoff :D :D :D Wow, you guys dunno how happy I was… whoaness… well, thanks God for helping me out and everything… I’m sure it’ll be a crazy year :D Thanks to everyone who supported me!!! Means much more than you think ^_^

Kim-Mai came to visit… though it was a brief half-hour visit, it was a visit nonetheless, lol

Well, who else would it be but Kim-Mai and I??? ha ha

Transfer Admit Day! Well, we didn’t do much except sit around and get free popcorn… but afterwards we went to La Jolla Shores cause MOB was having an event down there… essentially: FREE FOOD! ha ha L&L BBQ is soooo friggin’ delicious!!! ^_^

Rachael and Monika workin’ it

Random artsy pic Aleli attempted @ ACTA ice cream social, lol

Me & Matt being subjects… ha ha

Then we had the Culture Night thank you dinner on May 25th @ Pho Hoa Cali Express, our main sponsor! *thanks so much* And a free meal is also wonderful ^_^ After wards some of us went to see X3 thanks to Mister Terry Le for organizing it :]

So yummy Kim’s lickin’ her lips... while Van is just happy :]

Kathy so cool giving bunny ears to Huy, ha ha

A candid of Lisa and Julie chowin’ down!!! *yum yum*

The X3 crew... minus Frank, Amy, and some other people I forget... ha ha :P

The next day the fan ladies had yet another performance! ha ha This time SSSP, an affiliate of OASIS. Too bad Tram pulled a quick one and friggin’ went to Las Vegas!!! But no fears, Lisa came to the rescue! She literally learned the dance in a couple days!!! ha ha *highfive* …no one cheered, no one said anything until I began to clap >.< …but THANK GOD later on this Mexican girl asked me for the song we used at the bus stop when I was on my way to school, recognized me from that night. And so I asked her is she liked it and stuff and she said she was so amazed by the performance she couldn’t say a thing!!! ha ha so *YAY* it wasn’t that they sucked or weren’t liked, you guys were just that good! Andrew & the Boobies for life ^_^

The ladies and green fans... cause the CN fan dance broke most of our red ones -_- BOOOO, but aren’t they pretty??? :D

On May 28th was the UVSA End of the Year Banquet where all the schools come together for a nice din din and awards! I don’t remember much, but I do remember getting to eat yummy Viet finger foods before dinner started! ha ha mini pate chaute’d (sp!), that, uhh… ok, like I said, I don’t remember much, ha ha BUT it was fun and UCSD was seriously the coolest cats there! We were the loudest and had the largest number of attendees-and yes, we’re not even in the area!!! That’s how cool we are :P We ended up winning the Dedication Award for being dedicated to the community, our own club, as well as the UVSA community *woot WOOT* And for culture night, we won the Most Emotional Culture Night… ha ha Of course we ended up dancing the night away :P I tried this ‘new move’ on Van that didn’t turn out so well… but HEY! I FRIGGIN ASKED HER TO DO IT!!! ha ha :P …sorry once again >.< ha ha <3 VSA
Terry with “The Dedication Award” *yay*

Thao-Chi holding the “Most Emotional Culture Night” award… it makes me want to cry… especially Thanh's bubble blowing... LOL

The almost complete UCSD VSA gang @ the banquet!!! SOO COOOOL! ^_^

Last VSA GBM of the year, we introduced the new cabinet members and went bowling! *yay* …not to mention the suck and blow game… ha ha sooo bad… >.<

Generally speaking, the new cabinet... minus Thao-Chi, ha ha ha wtheck???

Look @ all those happy faces :]]]

Following day was the VSA car wash… which didn’t run too smoothly, but it ran smoothly enough to make I forget how much, but a good amount! ha ha Later that night we went to what was called the youth dance… boy were we fooled… ha ha ha Aw well, at least we were bored together >.<

Thien and Derek being slutty at my request

Khanh: “Honk if you’re DIRTY – “YOUR CAR THAT IS” lolness!!! She’s hilarious :D
Me and T-C in the newly refurbished Viet PBS studio pretending to broadcast :P

Some of us @ the “youth dance”

Happy 21st to me… thanks TMT :D

My Naruto artsy picture while procrastinating :D

VSA Table... a big success last quarter :]

ha ha So that’s my quarter in a nutshell… I better make a summer one soon… I don’t wannat spend another freaking 2 hours on another xanga blog!!! ha ha :P Hope all is well friends!!!

See?! UCSD is hecka excitinggggggggg (sarcasm, ha ha) Leave it to UCSD to celebrate Dr. Seuss's bday and have a blow up Cat in the Hat and Cake... ha ha

COUNTERPROTEST! ha ha My first political activist event @ UCSD. Pisses me off that everyone thinks all young people/college students are against the war. I never go to College Republican meetings cause of time conflicts and cause I'm lazy :P But decided to go cause they were gunna have a counterprotest against the "peace protest" of the College Democrats cause Cindy Sheehan was invited to our school to speak. She's the lady whose son died and camped outside of President Bush's ranch in Texas. Now she goes around telling people to stop the war exploiting her sons death. Now rather than being remembered as an honored soldier, we can remember him as the dude w/ the cooky mom who goes around trying to stop the war. A war that her probably believed in. In any case, no matter what they said, and as Condeleeza Rice has stated, it was right to take down Sadaam Hussein. Most of you are afraid of being drafted. A lot of ppl esond by saying "sign up for the war then!" and HELLO, that's totally different. I prefer to take the higher route to change things, but if our country had a draft, I would not try to hide. I know, I can't prove this until it happens, but most of you know I'm an honest person. As much as it'd suck to die early, I'd be ok... I'd be with God (hopefully, lol). In any case, get off their backs, ha ha We had like, 1/3 or 1/4 of the ppl the CD had, but yeah. No1 punched me so I'm happy. it was sprinkling most of the time *boo* and I was freezig my butt off :-/

During this period was the first time I walked out on a meeting. Yeah. It takes a lot to piss me off. I just thought I'd document that fact. That's just madness.
