When our stay on earth is done.

I am going to post some poems, remembrance,
and a short story that pen and internet friends shared
with me when I lost my brother,  and a best friend two
months ago.  Bear with me! I just need to get these down
in one spot to read later again.

These two were sent to me by a pen pal in
            Wisconsin:

                        Remembrance
You can shed tears that they are gone or
you can smile because they have lived. You
can close your eyes and pray that they'll
come back,or you can open your eyes and
see all they have left.  Your heart can be empty
because you can't see them, or you can be
full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live
yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow
because of yesterday.  You can remember them
and only that they are gone, or you can cherish
their memory and let it live on.  You can cry and
close your mind, be empty and turn your back,

Or you can do what they'd want:

Smile, Open Your Eyes, Love, and Go On.

The following poem,  I think will be what I
want to say when my day comes:

                    Don't Weep for Me

Don't stand beside my grave and weep.
For I'm no longer there.
Don't sing melancholy songs
Of grief to crowd the air.

Don't dress in dark and dreary clothes:
Your sorrow is in vain.
Rejoice, be glad, sing happy songs!
I'm through with hurt and pain.

Whenever you remember me,
I'm right there by your side.
I know your mourning and your grief,
I saw you when you cried.

So please, when you remember me,
Remember me with love.
Don't make me watch my dear ones weep
From Paradise above.

Think of the glorious memories,
The joyous times we shared.
Remember the love I had for you,
It shows me that you cared.

Most of all, be glad for me.
I'll be contented then.
Find hope in the triumphant day
When I'm with you again.

Now  a short story:

My cousin forwarded this to me via California:

A wonderful way to explain it

A sick man turned to his doctor,
as he was preparing to leave the examination
room and said, "Doctor, I am afraid to die.
Tell me what lies on the other side."

Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."
"You don't know?  You a Christian man, do not
know what is on the other side?"

The doctor was holding the handle of the door:
on the other side came a sound of scratching
and whining, and as he opened the door,
a dog sprang into the room
and leaped on him with an eager show
of gladness.

Turning to the patient, the doctor said,
"Did you notice my dog?
He's never been in this room before.
He didn't know what was inside.
He knew nothing except that his
master was here, and when the door
opened, he sprang in without fear.
I know little of what is on the other side
of death, but I do know one thing...
I know my Master is there and
that is enough."

May you trust God that you are exactly
where you are meant to be.

I believe that friends are quiet angels
who lift us to our feet when our wings
have trouble remembering how to fly.

There are two more poems that I want
to include.  I will do this on another
post as I need to close for this time.

Love Lots.  God Bless!

Don't weep for me I was familiar with, but not the other two. I like Rememberance. I have some nice ones up on http://mizbee.net/dedicate.htm  where I remember dad and brother in law Bill.

Take care, hope to hear from you again.
