picture of the day=KENNY PARK

I went rock climbing this past Saturday to get my mind off of some stuff. It was really nice to be out in the nature-ish rocks located right outside of Los Angeles. Even though the highway is visible from the graffitied rocks, it still sets the 'I'm in nature' feel. I haven't been inspired lately to take any photos. It has always been a dream of mine to take pictures of random bums in LA, but since I'm a 19 year old female I don't think it'd be the wisest thing in the world to approach some random bum and ask to take their picture. I want to get away from this fake reality we have of life. This type of put a smile on and say cheese for the camera isn't cutting it for me anymore. What happened to the gritty true-to-life obstacles we have to overcome? I can see beyond those smiles, but I want others to also. So I am announcing my new project. I'm setting aside the Rock Climbing series for now, and will be working on trying to grasp the true american character, not the fony stuff we see in the suburbs of southern california...

But until I actually start shooting here are some pictures from the Rock Climbing series.

On another note... I only need 11 albums to compete my Dylan collection of 35 studio albums

i've found that if you want to talk to homeless people they're usually open to discussion i've taken a few pictures of them and some love it others hate it. i've been meaning to do more but haven't really found the inspiration too lately. it's a certain mind set which you have rightn ow that i think best prepares me. my favorite shots are the with the ones i could talk with and get to know. the ones i just snap away at usually chase me down... and tell me they know their rights and that i can't take photos of them (not true though. you're allowed to record or photograph anything in a public place, period).

yet being a girl might change the whole story. just be confident and let them know it's for good not for evil. good luck.
