a very nyc Christmas, for me and for you..

It wasn't a snowy blowy Christmas afterall, but i'll take the nice 40's weather.
saturday after getting into manhattan, we took a drive out to Target, it was packed beyond belief and I feel that's why people hate Christmas :( But we saw the most goregous sunset. The picture below is from the roof top parking garage. Then at night, we left the city and headed for LI, to jo's friend from work. He lives in Great Neck in this crazy grandiose house, and a Colombian feast to boot.
Anyways, we decided on an adventure on the way back, and drove right into manhattan (like midtown) via the midtown tunnel. It was livid and I wanted to hold on to that feeling forever (or until the next day...'twas the night before Christmas).

I woke up and joked with Jo and told her that i would put it in my xanga. well here it is...I woke up Christmas morning in bed with a girl.
yayy for Christmas. Woke up, got ready and like two kids on Christmas morning...got jazzed up for a day in town. We stood in line to get tickets for a broadway show, coz goodness knows I can't resist a good show. [haha you'll have to read to find out what we saw!!]
Since it was a night show, we had lots of time for the city. So we had lunch at a true Zagat rated Jewish Deli. You know Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without some pastrami on rye and some latkes. (Happy Chanukkah ya'll!). Then we went to see Brokeback Mountain. That movie deserves everything good going for it right now, and more. I went in with hardly any expectations, and it killed me. 2 weeks after opening, and it's still a full house. Ang Lee a phenomenal job, i mean, he's up there with M. Night for me. The movie was poignant and touching, heartwrenching and painful all in one. Go see it if you've got the chance. Not a dry eye in sight.

Then we went back uptown to Broadway. (throw in a brownie bowl at Friday's), because we had tickets for Sweet Charity . I think i have a crush on Christina Applegate... ever since The Sweetest Thing, i've wanted to see Sweet Charity like whoa. And I had fears that she was going to call in the understudy that night, i mean it was Christmas afterall. But she stole the night, along with my heart. She dances and sings like no other. And she's hella funnny.
It reminded me of all the times I did theatre back in HS. Of all the commitments to learning your script, countless rehearsals, living your role...curtain call!
We ran back in the rain, hid for cover in the labyrinth of subway stops. Running in the rain is so fun.

Next day we drove over to queens to gets me some culture in jackson heights. It's like a carbon copy of edison, nj. I thought I was living some previous deja-vu. Anyways, pretty soon, I had to drive back home. I wish I knew how to quit you Ennis Del Mar.

k, i got to go to sleep. Leave me some love, and let me know how your Christmases were. Now may all your Christmases be white...
