| Searching for self...Thanks for participating in Very Best Baker Personality Survey! | You're a...Frosted Cupcake You're something of a showoff, aren’t you? (But in a deliciously good way!) For you, good taste is only part of the story. Your fresh-baked creations look like they were torn from the pages of a magazine, reflecting your winning sense of style. No wonder your treats get so many "oohs and ahhhs." |

| I'm Back! So, it's only been a couple of months! School has really thrown me for a loop. I love my kids and the people I work with, but I really do not think that God created me to work for much of my life. I am so much happier when I can be at home, have the house vacuumed, dusted, smelling nice, bake something for dinner, do the laundry... Even Jussi is suffering the ill effects of me being a working mother. Utility room daycare just isn't working. Her behavior is getting more atrocious every day. In the evenings when I come home ready to crash, she acts out in an effort to get my attention. I'm just not sure what we are going to do... Savor Saturdays??? :) Friday I get to speak at the Phi Lamb induction!!!!! I am soooooooooooooooooo excited! Something that really makes me jump up and down is the fact that generations have come and gone... okay, maybe not generations... but pledge classes... and I probably will never have met half of the girls there Friday! That is exciting to me because it says that God is working and using Phi Lamb on the campus of Lamar! I pray that He will bring girls to RUSH this week who He will raise up as godly women in anxious persuit of Him! I pray that the active Phi Lambs would be excited to watch God at work, and that they would be trusting His plan and purpose for them at Lamar. I pray that every girl who walks in room 108 would feel loved by their daddy God and that they would feel welcomed into the sisterhood. Thank you Jesus for the experience of being in Phi Lamb and the blessings it brought to my life. | | |
| Good afternoon, good evening, but not yet goodnight! Wow- I am for some reason in a really good mood, yet I have done very little productive, and I am hungry. Hmmm... perhaps the chocolate chip icing I had a little while ago has something to do with this state of euphoria...? Jussi has pretty much aced potty training. She now wets indoors only when ignored or scared. And we are working on that. She has been sooooo good today! We worked on laying out the material for a quilt I am going to make, our home builder lady came over, we cooked a good dinner... and she has just been a fantastic companion through it all. Now she is alternating hic-ups and barking while sitting in front of the window. Everyone needs a puppy. It is so prep for parenting.
Yesterday, my mom and I went and visited my cousin who just had twin baby girls. WHOA! She is super exhausted and slightly overwhelmed, yet it is obvious that she and her husband are completely consumed with love for the baby girls. Ella and Grace. They were so beautiful. And I, in my ignorant pride, look at my cousin and think, "She's a little whiny... I think I could handle this..." TWO BABIES. At one time. I am so spoiled with my sleep schedule, just having that change would be huge. I think to even come close to understanding her feelings, I would have to experience it myself. Which everyone seems to think I will get to do. She is the second of my cousins on my dad's side with brown hair and brown eyes to have twins. The other is fraternal twin boys. She had identical twin girls. I am the only other brown haired, brown eyed girl on that side of the family, and they say the longer you wait, the more your chances of having twins are increased.
Please Lord, however many you give me (at once), please please please let it be AFTER law school!
| No more schooling!!This week I have been in a workshop titled "About Teaching Math" put on by Math Solutions and Humble Independent School District, and after 5 whole entire long days of playing math games and defining arithmetic, I can say that Lamar did me good. I seem to be the only person in all of the sessions who has ever actually done these things. Area, perimeter, probability, patterns... Every single thing was covered in my math for elementary teachers class. So, if you are currently in that class-- PAY ATTENTION. It is apparently valuable information. But for me, it's as though I'm in the longest mini-session ever of a class I've already taken. I am not a fan. But the Humble teachers seem to be very very nice as a whole. I am craving real summer vacation. I think it should be here next week! | | |
| It's hotter than a 2 dollar pistol out there!Jussi got a hysterectomy today. Poor baby... And to make a bad situation horific, she will now have to wear one of those satelites around her neck 24 hours a day for 7 days. She deserves a really big piece of rawhide.
I got a job! As of last Thursday, I became a 2nd grade teacher! A promotion! :) I will be teaching at Humble Elementary which is directly behind Deerbrook Mall (WAHOO!). Everyone feel free to come and help me move in and then we can go shopping!
