I have a weblog at:

Actually, spent quite a while at La Jolla Village Mall(where Tower is). When I was sitting in Starbucks, it was bright and sunny, but it was raining. It was the freakiest thing

Then, my mom, dad, uncle and I went to the California Pizza Kitchen in Solana Beach, and there was an electrical storm while we were waiting for our meal and while we were eating our dinner. It was neat, but also kinda scary(I'm not crazy about lightning).

Speaking of weight gain I had a very nice Thanksgiving. Was going to make the sweet potatoes last night.but the sweet potatoes my mom bought a few days ago were moldy already and my dad had to run out to the store to buy some fresh ones. Made the cranberry sauce last night but by the time it was done it was late and it took my dad a while to go to the store and get the sweet potatoes, so the sweet potatoes I made this morning which was not a big deal because my mom had already boiled the sweet potatoes for me.Nice!

And I did pretty good when it came to not oveareating *too* much(but there was so much good food, it was tempting, let me tell you!)

We'll see how much damage I did the next time I weigh in. Between now and the next time i weight in, I'm going to try to get lots of exercise and stick to my diet as much as possible.

Wednesday, November 27, 2002

It turns out my mom has strep throat. Ick. Been there before.Had it quite a bit as a child. My mom probably got it from one of her students(she's a teacher).

Got all of the errands I needed to do today done, save for vacuming(ran out of time to do it actually) My day of getting stuff done around the house was broken up by a dr.'s appointment(my *whispers* lady doctor is right around the corner, so before I went to see the doctor I was seeing,I went to the lady doctor's office to see if I could make an appointment- I did, for the 10th of December ) Was glad to have that appointment made and will be even happier to have it out of the way

Thank goodness I didn't have to be outside very much today, since it was raining in the morning(not like it was a few weeks ago, when it was pouring down rain and I didn't have an umbrella).but it was still rainy enough that I needed an umbrella(I have one now, thank goodness!)

Gonna be busy tonight, between going to Weight Watchers and being in the kitchen cooking when I get home. Since my mom's sick, my dad and I will have to fend for ourselves(which means take-out Mexican food, probably )

I have so much stuff to do tomorrow before I leave for a few days(going to my parents' house tomorrow and staying 'til Sunday night),that I made a to do list.

Know that this is something I don't usually do unless I am REALLY busy.I worry that I'll forget to do something, but that's just me

My mom is sick(sore throat, feverish). What a cruddy time(2 days before Thanksgiving) to get sick. My dad had to go to Costco to get a bunch of pies since my mom's not going to be able to make pies this year. Not that I mind that the pies are from Costco this year... they make good pies

Anyways, I plan to do all the hard work the day before(not 100% correct-I'm making the cranberry relish tomorrow night, and that's easy enough.I'm also going to boil the sweet potatoes for my sweet potato dish and fix it the next day(again, it's very easy-the only hard part will be peeling, and then cutting up, the sweet potatoes.))

Monday, November 25, 2002

I had an interesting day yesterday..My mom and I went and ran a bunch of Christmas-related errands and now I'm pretty much done with my Christmas shopping which I'm happy about

On Saturday, when my parents and I were babysitting my 4 year old and 2 year old nephew, my 2-year old nephew was using two, and at least once, 3, words together! That was exciting for all of us.He has a HUGE vocabulary of words, for a 2-year-old anyways(or maybe it seems that way to me because I'm his aunt!)

Ergh..the grocery store was *so* crowded today- it's NEVER like this during the week-on Saturday and Sunday, maybe, but not during the week. It's cause a lot of people are doing their shopping for Thursday.

I'm sticking to my promise to never go back to the 101 again. My dad said "well, maybe when the waitress who was rude to you goes on her maternity leave you can go back". Lowlife working there or no, I still won't go back. The waitress who ripped me off is not the only bad apple there.Anyways, as long as I boycott the place, he'll boycott the place(which will probably be permanently)

Told my dad the really bad thing that I wanted to do(which I refuse to mention here)and he laughed.

Saturday, November 23, 2002

Today was a hanging out day, as many of my Saturdays tend to be

My nephews are here(my parents' house) right now. My brother and his wife went to see the new Harry Potter movie and should be back in a few hours.

The last time my niece and nephew were here,I took a picture of them, and my 2 nephews, and my mom and dad, sitting in front of the fireplace.Well, I found out that the picture I took was used for the family Christmas card this year which is really cool. I told my mom that she should make sure that she credits me with taking the picture

Friday, November 22, 2002

Last night, I went to the North County Times' website and used the form they have on their website to send a letter to the editor.

Well, I heard back from someone from the North County Times. She said that they don't usually print letters to the editor when they concern a buisness, but it wasn't up to her, so maybe it *will* get printed. God,I hope so.

The people at the 101 have vastly underestimated me.I'm not just going to sit back and potentially let them do this to other customers.I want anyone who might go to that restaraunt to know what sort of stuff they do there.

Right after this happened, and before I knew what was going to happen(and enetually wound up being shot to hell)I thought of a few ways of getting back at them: call the Border Patrol and tell them that some of the people working at the 101 do not have green card/call the FBI and tell them that everyone working at the 101 Cafe is part of an Al Qaaeda terrorist cell .Or, call the health department and tell them that the 101 has been breaking several health code violations for a while.

And I thought of one today, but it's *really* mean.. on the other hand, they probably would never know it was me

Thursday, November 21, 2002

Has anyone ever done this? go to:

http://www.google.com

and put in your name and "is"

to see what comes up I did my name and came up with some interesting results

Katie is a GPL'd(whatever the hell *that* is) revision system.

Katie is from Dublin Ireland(no, sadly, but I *am* part Irish )

Katie's kimonos is a family owned buisness.

Katie didn't doubt herself(I like that one!)

Katie just got married(nah..I'm still single!)

Katie is really bored(bwahahahahahahahahaha!)

Katie strongly adheres to a belief in the free exchange of information(that's true!)

Katie is a vegetarian(no, sadly..I like steak too much to completely give up eating red meat)

Katie is a talented Level 10 gymnast

Katie kicked butt()

Katie's music is appreciated by all ages(!!!!)

Katie is happy(that one's true!)

Jeez, I'm starting to believe in global warming. It was freakishly warm today. I was trying to keep myself hydrated, but it was tricky.

I could not wait to get to Borders today because I wanted to get the new NME which had an article about Travis in it. It was essentially the same stuff that someone posted to the Coming Around list recently.Though there *was* a newish picture of both Neil and Fran. *sigh*. Fran's hair looks like it's really long in the back-as long as it was in the Good Feeling days. Unfortunately, he never takes his hat off anymore, so I can't tell what the rest of his hair looks like.

It's weird cause if anything,I've been a lapsed Travis fan lately.I still LOVE their music, and l love them(well obviously )

There's a new Barnes and Noble store that's sposed to be really nice.. only problem is it's in Klan,I mean San,tee. They just opened a really nice shopping center in Santee and it's right near the trolley stop.

I don't know how long it'll take them to do it, but supposedly there are plans to have something like the San Diego Trolley in North County.Of course, they have been talking about doing this for a long time. I'm not gonna get too excited about it since it's still a few years(4?5?) away.

I went to the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown San Diego. Had a really nice waiter, great service, and I gave him a generous tip and told him it was cause the service was so great(unlike other places I could name *cough *cough* *cough* )

Wednesday, November 20, 2002

I had such high hopes that the situation with Scammy McScams was going to be solved..But let me tell you what happened:

A friend of mine emailed me the private number of of the owner of the restaraunt.I told him who I was and..

The waitresses, when questioned about what had happened, claimed that in all the time that I have been patronizing their restaraunt,I had broken a lot of stuff.Wha? OK, first off, I seriously tried to think of stuff that I had broken there and all I could think of was the glass bowl.

The waitress in question is obviously trying to cover her ass, and her co-workers are sticking up for her.

I find it interesting that at the time, the waitress was saying "we've had a lot of people breaking those" and now, because I've said something about it, it's now all about *me*.

Needless to say, I'm boycotting them now, as are my parents, and I'm going to tell everyone else I know to do so as well.

That, and writing a letter to the North County Times(or calling them and telling them my story). With bad publicity there where everyone can see it, they're gonna feel really stupid about scamming me, and the owner of the restaraunt would rather believe one of his employees and not me. Especially when it's so obvious that she, and everyone else who is backing up her story, are lying. How freaking stupid do you have to be to believe an obvious *lie*?

In other news, I lost *3* pounds when I weighed in at Weight Watchers tonight
