first day went well.  we actually went around lisbon for most of the day (i got some sweet shoes ), then back to camp.  turns out we misunderstood - we're not going to be counselors.  phew.  i was feeling a bit unprepared on that one.  we're more like support staff - we're going to be manning the kitchen (spaghetti last night...yum) and helping out with whatever needs helping.  i'm pretty excited about the week. i think it'll be alot of fun...for us and for the campers   a few prayer requests:  still haven't gotten a couple of bags.  marisa's came in yesterday, so that was good.  that things would continue with our team the way that they have been.  things have been going beautifully as far as unity and attitudes go.  and if you could..pray for my back, because it kills and we're sleeping on tile floors.  i'm struggling with not letting it be a distraction.
so today's the first full day of camp.  i have no idea how it's gonna go...we shall see!!  the eating schedule is interesting...apparently they really don't have much of a breakfast - i think like just bread and milk (yeah leftover spaghetti for me!!), then lunch, then a snack, i think, then dinner, then a nighttime snack.  (warm milk and bread?) who knows.

gotta go to the kitchen!! ttyl loves! <3

ok.  so their chaperone was in madrid, and they had no money, so we kinda hung out with them and helped them with all their luggage, etc. sooo, we go to check in for our flight to madrid, and the line was taking FOREVER (like hours forever) because all of people`s connections weren`t working, etc etc...they tell us that we will probably have to stay in madrid for 2 and a half days before we can get a flight to lisbon.  wow.  i was a bit excited at the prospect of spending two days in the capital of spain, myself....so we finally get through security and everything, and we are waiting.  and waiting.  and waiting.  and FINALLY we got on the plane...which definitely did not leave at 9.  the flight was uneventful, and we finally got to madrid, sat in some more lines for a long time (of course) and made a flight to lisbon at 7 something...but pastor terry had to go on standby.  so he ended up not making the flight, and was left in madrid for a few hours while we flew to portugal.  we got there, went thru zero customs(they didnt have any - kind of scary?) waited for bags...and none came.  to make a very long story a little bit shorter...they´re here now, except for a few.  so please keep praying about that.  today we start camp - that´s what we´re doing...but the ages of the ´´kids`` is like 16-25.  and we were told that we were going to be counselors of sorts.  we`re all a bit nervous about that.  pray for confidence and a comfort level and safety for all.  we have to lock all of our stuff up all day to keep it all safe.  (duh.  why else do you lock things up)  apparently some are from africa, some from brazil, and some from portugal.  (too bad i dont speak portugese)....so yea, good times!! see you later, loves!!  <3

hey everybody!  i'm here....in lisbon...finally....long story.  but we've been living in airports for the last 3 days.  we got down to chicago, ready to go on our flight to madrid, and there was a 30 minute delay, then a 45 minute delay, then the flight was cancelled because of problems with the plane.  so that meant that we missed our flight from madrid to lisbon.  so they put us up in the hilton connected to the chicago aiport for a night, and we were told to check in with them the next morning as to when we would be able to get another flight.  so we checked....9:00 the next evening. ookay....so there was this group of 30 kids from like 16 to 18 years old who were chaperone-less because somehow they got separated from their chaperone who was in madrid....so we adopted them.  but...my time is up on the internet!!! so i'll have to continue later... keep praying!  esp. that our luggage will get in....
