Current Mission

Finding my home.

Where's my hometown? Where do I feel at home? Macau? Definitely not. When I went back, I didn't want to stay more than 2 days. Miami? N o, all I can recall from Miami are my nerdy days, never ending studying.

I am always jealous that people that have a big group of friends that are tight, and they are always doing things together... that only happens if you keep in touch with people in one location for a very long time. ... like HK... It's so rare in the US.

But now, as weird as it sounds.... Today when I was driving, it suddenly hit me that I am kind of seeing my home as... Couchsurfing... the world is my home. Why do I have to pick one spot? It's the people that count. I feel belonged in this community. I am so happy. Because I know when I go to some other country, there will be another group of CSers there.. .. and everyone is somehow connected, because everyone travels everywhere and they make friends... and they make the same friends, because there're only so many CSers in one area.... The world just got smaller. It's so lovely.

Morrocan Restaurant @ Fullerton

Last night, I drove 40 mins to this snall Morrocan restaurant with my 2nd surfer Kim today... also met up with 2 coworkers who are in the same program there... wow.. we took over the whole restaurant.

We spent a long time there~ pretty fun. They had a belly dancer coming out and started dancing... which was kinda fun & weird.. cuz ppl started giving her singles... but it was fun.. left home at 6:30 am & got home at 11pm...

SFO weekend with Luis

So my cousin, Luis, came to visit last weekend. Since the girl from Germany that's coming Wednesday didn't want to go to stanford with me, I asked Luis if he wanted to go when he came in. He said YES! sooo hoorray...

5 hrs drive to Stanford. We ate at Zao Noodle at Palo Alto (MinMin, Karan, me & Luis). Later, we (Earl & Jewells<stanford student> joined)partied at Karan's suite, because the stupid Hookah place charges 30 dollars a hookah and it's 2 ppl per hookah AND no liquour!!! W-T-F. SMy other cousin, Steve, joined in as well... (cuz we were going to go to Napa Valley the next day). Anyways.... Karan's suite mate, Greg, came in and was shocked that there were a bunch of ppl in his place... it turns out... he just broke up with his gf for the second time in 2 days.......... T-T...so of course he got wasted.

<6 ppl slept in a 2 ppl dorm> slept in the living room on an airmattress with Minmin... Karan wouldn't stop having career talk with me. So I woke up with 3 big zits on my face... T-T

Anyways...SFO was tons of yways.... un! No wonder it is my favorite city. We only had 2 meals in Chinatown though, but I HIGHLY recommended both: "ying chung kock" & ABC cafe. We went to my favorite coffee shop by Sausalito... and i took a nap on the dock for 30 mins... browsed in galleries.. the only disappointment was that Golden Gate Bakery was off!!!! OMG T_T... I always eat there when I go to SF... I was like a zombie the whole day... so I passed out at the backseat of the car for 1 hr on the way back...  waking up @ 7am to walk around campus really killed me

we also gave a pass to all 3 parties that Earl recommended and just hung out at the common area... it was still great fun.

<7 ppl slept in a 2 ppl dorm> I took a bed this time. muahahaha

Anyways... ate breakfast 8 bucks all u can eat at stanford's only open caferia... we pigged out... at least i did.. Luis and I left at 2pm and decided to take the scenic route this time--the 101. It was really nice. But it took us 7 hrs... ooo and we ate at In N Out. I usually wouldn't eat it, cuz it's so not good for you. But hey, gotta try it when ur in CA.

but he still hasn't checked out LA (other than Redondo Pier & food @ good stuff & Gardena).. so we got to Hollywood at 9pm... did a 20 mins tour and bought 2 shot glasses.. then drove 20 mins to Sawtelle to eat... ate til 1010pm and got to the airport at 1030pm... and he safely flew back to Miami @1130pm.

The end!

Headache

I must have outdone myself this weekend. I got a raging headache today since lunch, and still went through an extensive eye exam. So I slept from 4-6,. I woke up to make congee, but I was in too much pain to eat it, so I then slept from 7 to 1. I think I will go back to sleep at 2 after writing this.

I really don't think I did that much during the weekend... it's all pretty relaxing stuff.

So after the 4th of July, I went shopping for food, cooking for Alan and MinMin. I made my specialty spaghetti, but I think I made it too salty. Then we met up with Earl, Karin & Dave to have sushi @ Takami & go clubbing @ Elevate... (oh, we drove around 2 hrs to find Dave). Left at 2am... talked til 4 am...

on the 6th, woke up at 830am so I could have breakfast with Earl... that guy is late to everywhere! Anyways... MinMin and I met up with Dave afterward (he's doing internship at LA). We went to eat @ this Ramen Noodle place by the Jpn video store... (forgot the name, but they have a noodle called "Healthy", Minmin tried it and it was really good).

The shot glasses I bought from Spain & Portugal were filled with Japanese Sake.

Of course, we had to stop by Ranch99 to get some chinese grocery... Dave was fascinated... and we decided to make sushi! So the whole day, i just ate, ate again, made food and ate some more. Dave left at 930pm and he looked like he could pass out any minute.

But that was my weekend. Not too strenuous, right? But no, I gotta wake up at 530am to work.... When I woke up that day, I thought I was gonna die...  ahhhh

So I guess I never paid off my sleeping debt from the weekend.... and that's why I got this headache today. I hate being alone when I am sick. I just went to wash my face and my nose started bleeding?? What the hell.... I wish Carmen was here to make me congee...
