  •   We had a good weekend, though busy. Darin spent most of Friday and Sat. going through his wood shop. He has everything in there sorted, and the things that are going are all ready to be loaded on the truck! You would have to have seen it before to realize the job this was! He is quite pleased with himself.
I have six boxes packed from in the house. Most of them are clothes that we won't be needing for a while. The people that are buying the house wanted to come on Saturday afternoon again so I cleaned and picked up things that were not in their place, with the help of the children.
Saturday afternoon we went over to Darin's mom's house. We ate a picnic supper there with her and Darin's two youngest brothers who live there, and my bil and nieces and nephew that live next door. Sil, Dawn couldn't be there, she had to work. I guess I should add that we did have an ice cream cake, complete with 35 candles (that Darin bought), for my birthday! Of course the bil s had to make comments about all the candles and me blowing wax all over the cake.  Later, after Dawn got home, our family and theirs and 1 bil went to watch fireworks. They had been postponed from Friday because of rain. We had a great time!
Yesterday we had a nice relaxing day. It's so nice to have Sunday's to rest and revive, isn't it?
We all miss Kaitlin who is in MO with my parents. They left last Wed and will be home this Tues. or Wed.

  • Good News!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! We have a contract!
Last night our realtor came over with an offer from the same people that made an offer a month ago. I wrote about it on May 30 and June 2. We had made a counter offer which they didn't accept because something had come up and they had decided they shouldn't move. Well, apparently they got the problem straightened out and decided they can move after all. They made another offer to us which is basically the same as what our counter offer had been! We are so excited!
They wanted to have settlement on July 30 and we, as anxious as we are to move, asked to move it back to August 20. We thought it would be too much to try to move across the country only ten days before the baby is due! They agreed to it so we are waiting. By the 20th the baby should be here, and we should be back home from the hospital, and a little recuperated. We plan to have most everything packed by the time the baby comes and just live here with the bare necessities until settlement day. Pray for us as we begin this big job of packing and planning. Pray that I can be calm and not get stressed out!

  • Fun in the sun

The children keep wanting to put our pool up and we keep saying "no". We are thinking of the trouble of putting it up, paying someone to fill it, keeping the water balance right, then taking it back down, cleaning it if needed and letting it lay out to dry for several days before folding it back up and packing it away again. Then with the possibility of it only being able to be up for a couple of weeks (if someone would buy our house)...We said "no".

So they settled for cooling off in the sprinkler. They had fun!
I took these pictures one day last week and thought I'd share them with you.

Yes, that's a bruise on Abigail's cheek/eye lid. She and Brady had a
     head-on collision.
She was running and he was on his bike!
    It happened last Mon. and
    looked bad
for several days, but is much better now!

Morgan wasn't too thrilled about being in the spinkler!
She had fun playing on the slide next to them.

  •   I know. . . I haven't updated for a little while, but life here is just normal and I don't have much to say that would be interesting. My husband,  kbamsdad, finally updated. You might want to check it out.
I do want to say though, that my dad's surgery went well and he is at home recuperating. Praise the Lord! Now we have to wait for the test results.

  • another showing

Just wanted to let you all know we had another showing for our house today! I got a call this morning a little before 9 and the showing was at 1:00. We quickly got things into shape and left (right as the people arrived). We drove to a little park about five miles away and ate our packed lunch there and the children had a wonderful time playing. It was nice and breezy, not too hot, and it only sprinkled rain a little. Then we went and got some flowers for my flower beds from a local Amish owned greenhouse and got back home about 2:40. I'll let you know what comes of this showing!
