| IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE? (thanks kentymac)
So, here's how it works: 1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc) 2. Put it on shuffle 3. Press play 4. For every question, type the song that's playing 5. When you go to a new question, press the next button 6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...

| especially wonderful1. white tea is delicious, especially peach white tea, and especially when you need a pick me up 2. jackass 2 was doubly amazing as the first, especially because of the devil shooting out from under the sidewalk 3. chewacla state park is gorgeous ritght now, especially when you hike down trails and in creek beds 4. watching football until you can watch no more without taking a nap, especially with the person you love the most, is pretty much heaven 5. extreme makeover home edition is the best thing on television, especially since it portrays how we are truly supposed to love each other 6. us national scrabble competition is more extreme than you think, especially when the prize is $25,000.00! 7. making meals for two is expecially better than making meals for one 8. taking pictures is especially fun when it's a race against the battery wearing out 9. the stars shine a little brighter, especially when they know you're looking at them 10. it is especially wonderful when you can cry your eyes out and the person you love holds you tigher 11. airports are not very good places to say goodbye, especially when the goodbye means i'll see in you 6 weeks 12. dreaming about the future gives us hope, especially since the future really isn't that far away at the end of the day, when I am lying in bed and I know the chances of any of our theology being exactly right are a million to one, I need to know that God has things figured out, that if my math is wrong we are still going to be okay. And wonder is that feeling we get when we let go of our silly answers, our mapped out rules that we want God to follow. I don't think there is any better worship than wonder. --Donald Miller, Blue Like Jazz | | |
| close encounters with natureso i was driving in my car with brad and my dad down a two-lane at night. it was dark as dark could be, and we were just driving along...
then my dad said some dumb, crude comment...so i slowed down to a dead stop, and jokingly told him to get out of the car and walk home.
well it just so happened, as my dad looked over at me in shock that i would make him walk home, he spotted a deer on the side of the road, just about to cross in front of the car!
so, thanks dad for your rude humor. it saved bambi's life.
in other news, i finished summer school without cracking a book. i am sooo glad that is over. my volunteering at riley children's hospital has been so much fun and a great learning experience. i can absolutely see myself working in that sort of a setting. and finally, starting on saturday, i will be spending 8 days at rainbow christian camp in converse, indiana, hanging out and ministering to junior high students. it's going to be really good for me to take a break from my summer routine and spend it with truth-hungry, energetic, children of God. i've had some reservations about being away for a week, but i belive God's going to do some amazing work with me at camp this year.
so that migh conclude for today. more to come after camp. | | |
| summer lovinso i made it home to indiana with no trouble. it was good to sleep in my bed again. it was great to see my loved ones again.
and then i started summer school. but it's not too bad so far. i'm taking an art class, which i absolutely love. it's inspired the inner artist in me i guess. and i'm taking microeconomics which will be six weeks of headache. i'm ready for the challenge, though! i also got accepted into a volunteer program at a really amazing children's hospital here in indianapolis called Riley Hospital for Children. i'm going to be volunteering there 3-6 hours a week, hopefully making kids feel better in some way or another. i'm really looking forward to that. i had my orientation this morning so now i know how to get on the intercom and call a 'code blue,' or how to answer a phone politely when parents call in panic. it will be great! i can't wait to be with the babies!!
i miss auburn a lot, too...the people--my peeps , toomers, barbeque house, random trips to sonic in my pjs, xa, ultimate frisbee at the intramural fields, laying out (can't do that here--it's 55 and rainy right now, ick.), cambridge, downtown, the wall o' turkeys, football, movie nights, hanging out with caylor, top model with the girls...
it's different being home, but it is still so sweet. i'm enjoying it despite missing you all. most of the time i feel like i get the best of both worlds, being able to enjoy auburn and carmel! so yay for being home. all you auburn-ites/alabamians/geogia-ns/southern people need to visit me so you can get a taste of the wild world that i call home!
ok y'all, we'll talk soon!
