| Haven't Updated I n A WhileOur family has a wonderful Christmas. The girls got lots of cool stuff. Christi and I both got MP3 players and a Napster subscription. I have been listening OVER and OVER to Derek Webb's new album Mokingbird.
It is like after an entrie lifetime in a republican conserative church I hear somebody vocalizing the things I have thought and been shamed for speaking. This is just simply an AMAZING album.
Anyway, I have had lots of updates over at my "regular" blog. So please go check it out.

| The 411 on the CDAfter recent comments by Nichole, and many excited posts on many of your individual blogs I have decided to UPDATE the news. I contacted Sid and Got the folowing email.

Here is the story and it is a long a twisted one. Right after the
retreat Welch Electronics took on one of it's biggest jobs, a convention in
Louisville, Kentucky. They go and record all the sessions and then sell
compact discs of the speakers to all the attendees. They took all their
recording gear and the compact disc duplicating system with them to
accomplish this particular show as it was larger than normal. Due to recent
changes in laws concerning air travel they had to ship the equipment via
UPS. Everything arrived in Louisville and worked wonderfully. So same
routine on the return trip. The recording equipment arrives back home, the
duplicating equipment is "temporarily lost". So Richard gets to work
cleaning up our recording and preparing the master for duplication. He
finishes but the duplicating equipment never makes it home.
So you can not imagine dealing with UPS on lost shipments from yourself
to yourself. Paperwork, red tape and arguments (discussions) follow.
Finally they (UPS) agrees to replace the duplicating equipment, but they
must buy it not give Richard a check, more discussions as to exact
replacement. Finally two weeks ago the order is actually placed and
confirmed by the manufacturer. They are shipping the new replacement
duplicating equipment to my friend Richard. I get all excited and start
telling people the cd's arrival is imminent. Guess who the manufacturer
chooses for shipping the equipment? UPS And it arrived last Friday. Guess
what? Box is crushed and when opened the duplicator's side is caved in and
the electronics critically damaged.
I had lunch with Richard today and he is hoping that the new new
replacement compact disc duplicator will arrive on Monday and maybe I could
get at least some of the cd's next Friday. I refuse to get too excited at
this point.

| Henry's Winter RetreatIt is true that the board has informed Henry that he can not host his
winter retreat at the camp. I believe that the board felt it was
unsanitary and unsafe to have teens in the messhall overnight with just
a propane heater and a portable toliet.
I heard via gossip that Tim Miller was one of the strong oppenents
against the retreat and he would probably be a better source than me as
the details of why the retreat was kicked off campus.
I have also confirmed with him via phone that he would be more than
happy to give more detail to anyone who desires it. You can call
him at the North Park Church.
