  • So many things to learn so little time

The older you get, the more you realise there is so much more to learn! Why is that? At 21 I had everything worked out and now I'm 30, I still know stuff but have realised my world is SO much bigger than ME!

Cool things in my life right now:

    1. I have a great husband - Hil - We celebrate 5 years of marriage next Thursday! Time has flown and we have had a great time. We've had good and bad experiences and of course our biggest highlight would be the blessing of our excellent little boy Daniel! Miracle!

    2. Daniel - I've grown as a person just being a Mummy! It makes you appreciate life and GOD more and more. Life is precious and we won't be here on earth  forever.....having a child makes life fly by even more. I am SO thankful to GOD for this precious gift of our little SON. He is such a joy and pleasure and priveledge to have. We can't believe we have him. Don't forget it's a miracle to have a child!

    3. My Family-Hailes - I have the best family in the world. My Mum and Dad are God lovers and chasers of Jesus! They are servants and followers of Christ. They are leaders and pastors who desire God's will for people/ They love people and serve them faithfully and have been an example for me for 30 years. They are AMAZING and I love them very much. My Bro and SIS are the best - we may have had our fair share or brotherly, sisterly fights - But I LOVE them heaps. I'm so proud of them and their acheivements and obvious love for GOd and others - it's SWEET!

    4. My Work/Church/Relationships - My life is intertwined at work/church etc. I'm an employee and Soldier of Seattle Temple. It is also a priveledge to be called Youth Pastor, the more the years go on, the more I am amazed that God would use me to minister to youth  - I also believe in ministering to the whole family and so I am also blessed HEAPS to work with parents and other adults alike. Working at the corps is great - it has it bad moments but there is a LOT of good. Not many people see what goes on behind the scenes - A LOT. Do you know how long it takes to plan a meeting? How about type up the bulletin?  Or listen to a lonely person tell their story? How about plan 3 months of youth group and try to coodinate a trip to camp? Anyway all that to say life at the Salvation Army is not boring (ok sometimes it is) but generally it's excellent. I'm still grateful to the Bradleys for hiring me. I have some great friends from church! All from diferent ages, some younger, some older! I LOVE learning from those before me - I will listen to advice, stories and wisdom from Home League ladies to children - they can be wise too! I feel like I'm babling but I guess it's just all coming out tonight. Maybe I'm having a crisis?

    5. My neighborhood - It's takes A LOT to know a neighbor. But we have GREAT neighbors. We have built a lot of good relationships in our street, which makes it harder since we are house hunting at the moment......our street is quiet and full of good people who we get along with. There are kids DAniel's age and we hang out in the street all the time. Although I"M sure as the Autum months roll in and dark afternoons, it may not be as often. But there are parties and get togethers going on all the time. We have snippets of faith talks and share life. (I drove 2 loads of junk to value village on Sunday to help one neighbour - is was the BEST to help them like that!0

OK WOW - I'm going to bed now. I just have heaps to say and there's more.

    I'll be back

  • StreetLevel & Service Corps

Tonight I had the priviledge of serving alongside our service corps at StreetLevel meal service! It was great to go, I've been meaning to go for a long time and have never made it. I was a wee bit nervous when the whacked out dude was cleaning his knife infront of us........I slowly moved behind the table at that point. He mentioned that he was high and should have taken his meds - I REALLY wanted to mention to him that perhaps he SHOULD have taken his meds - oh well, he was pretty amusing too. Anyway it was good to go, there was another church there too, they had nachos - we had spaghetti - people were happy to have 2 meals!

Ok well I'm sure there's a little more to process in all that. I'll let you know what i think later.

    I'm sorry

I've been to the other side - that is Facebook! But I will be over now and again and write something - a few of you have been reading my most exciting entries, hope you are not jumping up and down too much when I write! I do have a few thoughts to share (nothing too deep of course) But 2 weird things happened as I was driving to work today and I really wanted to remember them to write here.............I remember one and ok it's not that funny anymore....

    1. I stopped behind a car and got mad when they didn't move as the lights turned green, they then proceeded to put their hazard lights on and as I drove past I noticed a lady with her head out of the window spewing her guts out.... - ok not funny but it was at least amusing?

    2. I'll keep trying to remember -

    Sorry to bore you

check out face book - it's rad!!!

Don't stand so close to me!

As some of you may know I went to see one of the world's best musical perfomers the other week with 2 of my good friends. We saw THE POLICE  - starring STING> who sang a song called "Don't stand so close to me!" Anyway my message to the world today is PLEASE don't stand so close to me in the line for ANYTHING.

It is a HUGE pet peeve ( i think that's what you call it in this country - we call it pet hate - a little stronger) is when people stand SOOOOOO close to you in the line at the grocery store or at DICK'S today. It makes me feel REALLY nervous and I clutch my purse a little tighter and and try to look around to see what you look like.

I DISLIKE very much "close standers." Please, please do not do this to me, my blood pressure rises as I try to edge forward and you follow me................"Don't stand so close to me!"

    Good Night!

  • OK I'm really tired since I just spent about 5or so hours on the road back and forth to Camp Arnold driving Amanda, Alexandra, Oscar, Simon and Adam (Wennstig cousins) as they are working at camp all Summer. Anyway the highlight was singing some song that says, "Feel the rain on your skin" and as we were singing it Amanda and I rolled down our windows and really did feel the rain on our skin - it was a hilarious moment!

    Ok that's it for tonight
