New Life

It has been four and a half month since I was in Calyon. I have started to settle down, developed my own formula to learn and incorporate into the setting. Things are going pretty smooth, with some occasional skirmishs in my team that would before jangle my nerves...but now it is all well-accustomed.

My teammates are accommodating and friendly. It is not hard at all to make friends, i mean, really good one. But the french chiness division has been serious here, precluding the possibility of going further. I guess if you speak french, it would be better. But unless you are really good, the invisible wall stand stony still.

For what I learnt are all practical finanical knowledges, system know-how and some products preliminaries. yet, they are just large coverings of some small  mathematics and models. If you want to excel in this profession, you have to dig into this part before you boast yourself making some real money. A master , Maybe. Study yourself, no way... believe me, i tried.

People come , people leave.Even as little a trainee as I  am,  I could feel the uneasiness of the surrounding. The whole economy is crushing , people lost their jobs, cut spending and our standard of living dropped.

Disastrous years for the graduates.While there are every reason for us to grumble, why not come out and prove yourself ? The competition is still fair , it is just getting stiffer. If you are on top, you will always be secured. If you are trailing , you are always catching up. No matter what. Just don't yearn for the net being big enough to accommdate you , you seasonal loser!

Boston Celtics

My all time NBA champion -- Boston Celtics

Since Detroit beating L.A in 2002, i have never been that excited in an NBA final. Actually when Spur and Jazz were out i know this year would be a special one. I have had enough for those parker and duncan pick and roll ;or Okur william korver shooting three beyond the arc....those sucks.

I want true stars, not just solid players, but those who sparkle on the court, those you couldn't move your eyes off them. It is when KG dunking the ball , Paul Pierce shooting poke-up , Ray Allen firing a three do you start to realize fancy could sometimes come from a solid play, just not by Duncan, Parker and Boozer.They are terrific players, but they never bring excitement to the game...well unless they are the opponent teams of Boston or Houston.

Speaking of Houston, when will they land guys like ray and KG around Mcgrady?After all,  Pierce didn't deserve to have Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen fall into his lap any more than McGrady did. But one thing is certain. If Houston could not go deep into the playoff next year, a trade is inevitable.. either Mcgrady or Yao Ming will go.It is sad.

And I really like Ray Allen, he is my all-time favourite. He makes basketball shooting an art.

HSBC

Finally got my photos in HSBC uploaded. Yea before i join Calyon i was actually working part time in HSBC. I got a taste of what retail bank is like and how it is run. Running a retail banking business is no easy task , look at my manager, he has barely 40 mins to have his lunch and as we have counted, on average he is being shouted madly 3 times a day, those customers are very demanding .They never get satisfied, so the best way is to ignore them, as they will file the complaint anyway.......ha.

Anyway, the working environment there is great and people there are all very nice. I enjoy working there so much. It is by far my best working experience. I gonna miss them all.

Bold Decision

Guys, I am going to take one year off and work in Calyon.

I received the call yesterday, it was like ..wow man are you kidding? After the final round of the interview, I dare not dearm of anythings coz i fucked up there. But then I lucked in .

To all my friends , you know how much it means to me. The working environment is great, I will have to speak french there and it is an investment bank. And then i was asked if i am interested in working for a year, i think it would be great for me to save up for my final year school fee, and my family support me, so i take it.

I really miss all my friends in cityu , i can't graduate with you guys and especially manman, but I really want to try and take up the challenge. Hopefully Ayaz will continue to fail courses and be kept in year 4 and be my company in 2009, haha.

Well, some of my friends told me that they were being kicked out of merrill lynch after a month or so, coz they are really not able to catch up. Well I guess I have to be really well prepared, or everything i wrote here is just a joke.
