Yikes!  Has it been almost 4 months???  I guess I've been busy with work and traveling that I have not served my xanga justice.

I've been working 7 days straight and having 7 days off as my set schedule for the year.  The only catch is that I work the overnight shift so it gets to be a little exhausting at times.  But I really enjoy the autonomy of it since I am pretty much the only one answering all questions for my nurses and docs.  Everyone is really chill in the middle of the night and extremely grateful when I bail them out of a jam.  In just 6 mths I think I know most of the crew (not bad for a 400 bed hosp) and vise versa.

I've done some traveling as well on my weeks off.  Since July, I have flown to Connecticut 2 times, Boston, San Antonio, Denver, Chicago, China for the 3rd and final wedding of the year, and I'm driving to Vegas tomorrow.  I'll probably see my favorite JoyJoy!  I think I've racked up lots of points with multiple airlines and put quite a dent in my bank account from all the traveling... but I LOVE it!!!

This past Thanksgiving I went to Chicago to visit my uncle and his family.  My cousins are now 11 and 7 and they are soooooo cute.  Boy, they are good, I got tricked once or twice and didn't even see it coming.  I think that is a sign that I'm old and can't keep up with the conniving little ones.  I see so much of myself in the little one (so manipulative at such a young age and yet so cute!!!)  Watch out for him!!!  =)

Lastly, I've turned 26.  I know I know it sounds like a big number but I really don't feel it.  It's been going well so far.  I hope 26 is a lot better than 24 or 25.  Maybe my social life will actually kick in since I'm no longer a resident and I actually have some income to do stuff.  =)  I guess we'll see.

This is it for now.  I'm keeping it short and sweet.  (Actually I have to pack and get ready for my road trip)  I also need some much valued beauty sleep.  I've been running on ~ 3 hrs a night for the past 5 days.  That is not a smart move when you are working nights... until next time.

It has been a long time since I've updated.  Residency has officially been over for 2 months.  I was home for 10 days in July to see friends and family.  I got to see most people but not everyone.  I've been officially working for the past month and a half.  It feels good to be paid for your service!!!

I am the graveyard pharmacist at my hospital and I am in charge of almost 400 beds at night.  I love the autonomy and the freedom!  Granted most of the patients are sleeping and low mantenance at night but we do get some scares here and there.  I have not yet gone to a full code on my shift but I've been to several pseudo codes.  Two nights ago I was in the neonatal intensive care unit and a baby was looking ify.  I do NOT like baby codes!!!  Every morning I round with the postcall medicine team and help with med management... I think the interns really appreciate it.

Working overnight and rounding in the morning gets to be challenging at times but I really like it and don't mind the vampire hours.  I think I'm turning paler by the minute.  The bonus is that I work 7 days and am off for 7 days.  =)  Vacations... plane rides... traveling the world... here I come!

Your Love Life is Like Casablanca
"Kiss me. Kiss me as if it were the last time."

For you, love is never finished. If you've loved someone once, you'll always love them.
You're an old fashioned romantic... even if your relationships don't end up as romantic as you'd like.

Your love style: Traditional and understated

Your Hollywood Ending Will Be: Complicated and ambiguous

Does that mean it's going to suck for me???

You Are 50% Left Brained, 50% Right Brained
The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

Has it been a month since I last wrote an entry???  I didn't even update my Grand Canyon trip =(  I have lots of stories to tell but that is going to have to wait til another day.

I'm burning the midnight oil yet again.  I hate the month of May in terms of projects and pulling near all-nighters.  Seriously, aren't I too old for this?  Is anyone else finding that they don't have time for anything and is sacrificing sleep to check off daily tasks???  I know I'm a resident but come on!  Well, at least I have 11 other residents who feel the same way.

I'm in the midst of looking for a J.O.B.  I'll update once that status determined.  If I get the job I want, I can have lots of time off and make enough money to support my traveling habits.  =)  That's what keeps me going.
