was way easier than when i ran the sumpu. which doesnt really make
sense cuz i didnt really train much for this one. i dont have any muscle pains, but whats killing me are my shin splints! ive been gimpin and limpin around..ugh!
some things im going to do before i die...
-do the alcatraz swim
-run a marathon
-do a triathalon...i really wish the swim portion were longer and the
bike/run shorter...actually, id rather swim the whole thing...anybody
want to do a triathalon with me relay style???? dibbs on the swim portion.

...getting a lil anxiety about going home...

good job to ryan besto, blair...omedetou, yoku ganbatta ne!
yumi...can you prove that you actually ran the race? haha, jk...you get
a nice pat on the back too...cuz of you, everyone thinks im like a God
for convincing you to run the thing.

..off to Tokyo to meet up with my crazy x-roommate Ashthflash! (shes

But, as most of you guys know, my laptop
is KaPut. I didnt want to deal with it anymore so I just sent it home
with my mom. So, for the time being, I wont be able to really add
pictures on this thing. But on the brighter side, you'll get to enjoy
more of these fun faced smilies that xanga so generously offers to its
subscribers. woohoo!

where was i...so much has happened...

Cha-cha-cha CHINA!!!!!!!!!!!
man, this was an AWESOME trip. the fantastic 4 (me, mich, ry, besto) hit up Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, Guilin, Guangzhou, Hong Kong. Here are some highlights.
-climbing the great wall
the view was amazing. it was harder then i though, we were on all fours
climbing at one point. oh ya, and besto fell on his ass.
-Peking duck! mmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmm the food was soooo gooood!
-cheap DVDs..some of which dont work but, they were only a dolla
-the Li River by far one of the best things on the trip. the limestone mountains were..as my friend quite appropriately described..EPIC
-SNAKE! we ate snake! we saw it get picked from its cage, its head snipped off, the blood drained and its bile removed. we drank its blood n bile n ate the meat...mmmmm, it was soooo tasty! just like chicken! i have it all on tape if anyone cares to watch...ryan?
-cheap food, gifts, clothes..cheap everything!!! barganing was fun, but got pretty tiresome...and we always seemed to find better deals AFTER we bought our things...
-terra cotta warriors.
it was pretty crazy how many of them there were, and how detailed and
different each one was. we even got to see one of the guys who
discovered them.
-Victoria Peak and Dim Sum. Hong Kong was cool, so big and futuristic and yes.. epic.
We didnt get much of a view from the peak, but it was still nice being
out there. The dim sum was tasty too...i love the rolley carts!
-24 hour emergency room. yes, this made it on the list. so, in shanghai, ryan got sick. the only one out of all of us. little weakling,
so, at around 2am, i took him to the ER. everything was in chinese..we
were like uhhhhhh. but then thankfully the dr. knew some japanese. he
put us into a room so ryan could get an ivy, so we were stuck in this
dark, damp, waaaay overcrowded smelly room for about 3 hours. i felt
like we were sure to catch something contagious while we were there...but phew, i think we got outta there safe.
-4 minutes of funk.. the theme of the trip...besto knows whats up.
-YUKAR!!!! this goes out to the best yukar partner ever! mich, we rule, the boys are...loooooooooossseeers!! muahahahaha miss you roomie

and..thats it for china!

other updates while im at it..

- i ran the sunpu marathon!
10k! me, besto, blair, n doug ran it...it was so much fun! there were
so many people. who wouldve though me, ky, would be running?! heres
some advice for you guys who are thinking of running a race...
*dont have any slow jams on your ipod. at one point, i just had a
string of barry manelow, keith sweat, frank sinatra....not very
motivational when youre running
*dont go ballz out by cheering for everyone and their mother the first half. makes for a very VERY painful second half.
*when grabbing water from people while you run, dont get it up your nose. it stings and makes breathing even harder. i started choking n couldnt stop
*Do drink a can of Boss coffee. that shit'll keep you wired for days. i
felt amped up on drugs and even had trouble sleeping that nite it couldve also been the half bottle of ryans energy mixed that i accidentally dumped into my mouth.

-Weekend of Taiko!
we got back from china on friday, and then ry and i had taiko
performances on both saturday and sunday. one was at a small festival
in fuji. the other was in tokyo. so much fun! im really loving taiko
now, cant stop wont stop...we gets down baby we gets dooown!! ehh, i
forget how that song goes. speaking
of taiko, this past sunday, went to go watch a really famous taiko
group perform. OnDeKoza!!! they were sooooo goooood! i wished they
played more, but man, they were soooooooo goooood! inspired.

-Eriko Momma! yaaaaay, my mom was out here
it was so nice being around her. we went to onsens, botanicals,
restuarants, karaoke,(i guess i proved that good singing genes didnt
get passed down within this family. ) and more restaurants. it was so much fun..i miss her already
thanks ryan for helping me show her around and also for fukufuku!

-Takayama, takayama, Takayama.
ry and i just had a weekend of...riding the train. we left friday nite,
arrived in Gifu around 11pm. stayed at a karaoke place overnite..yes,
we be cheap, then headed to takayama at 6 in the AM. got to takayama
around 1030am. saw Hida no sato..the old wooden village, then we went
off to the matsuri. it was cool, the town was super nice. really quaint
and cute. did i just say cute??? come 420, ry and i wer already on the
train headed back to fuji. 7 hours later, we were there. phew.

ok..thats it for now. i dont really like reading long entries, but i
guess im a hypocrite cuz i just wrote a novel of one...hope you enjoyed
the yellow faces!
