Hi Everyone,

No , I didn't fall off the face of the planet, but I haven't had much time for writing or "computering". Andy  and Loriann are back to college. Brian, Mark, Greg are back at the high school. Elena and Tony are at the middle school. Jessalyn and Christian are in grade school.  I went back to school as a cafeteria worker. Mostly, I like my job, but things have been really stressful the last few weeks because people have been too sick to work. That means the rest of us have to do our jobs and theirs. It will get better.

The reason for my post today is:  I spoke with Andy today. He is taking ticket orders for the musical "Carousel" today until 4:00pm and Wednesday , from 2:00 -4:00 pm. You can reach him at 1-765-641-3743.  This is a direct line to the box office at Anderson and these are the hours he is working this week.  He said the first weekend showings will probably sell out fast, so get back to him as soon as you know when you want to attend.

Always lots to do. Must get started for the evening.

Good morning everyone.

This weekend was really crazy around here.  Andy & Antoine came down from AU to visit home.  They arrived about  9:30pm and we talked till about 1:30 or 2:00 am. Loriann showed up here about 12:30. The guys had a big euchre game going about all the time they were here. I'm not sure the final tally but  I think Dennis and his partner won the most games. On Saturday, Dennis and I fixed biscuits and gravy, sausage and bacon and eggs. I tried out my new expertise on gravy for the family and it was a hit. ( Restaurant work has its advantages)   I had promised the boys some scotch treats, so I made 3 pans and sent a few back with them when they went home. I also sent some to  Daniel even though he didn't get to come home this time.  It was really good to see them again.  After they left, around 5:00, we just kept having people knock at our door.  Sometimes it was just neighborhood kids. But after I put my little ones to bed, I was relaxing in the livivng room with Mark, when someone else knocked.  If Mark hadn't been sitting right there, I might not have answered, because when I looked out there was a great big guy standing at my door.  It was my nephew Josh.  He had come by to see Andy but didn't get here in time for that. We still had a good visit with him.  We hadn't seen him for several months. He is doing well and getting ready to go back to school.

Mark came home from the KY baseball trip on Friday night instead of Saturday.  He said they cancelled the last game because of big storms near Glasgow. My sister in law,Michelle, said they actually shut down the town of Glasgow because of the tornados that went thru.  They actually arrived in Franklin about 10 minutes after the hail hit our home. It was pouring down the rain while they unloaded the trailer. Mark had an impressive week going 5 for 6 at the plate.  He hit 2 doubles to the fence,( the coaches thought he had hit a homerun, but not quite)  He did not pitch but figured he would have pitched in the last game.  He has a freshman game tonite at Whiteland @5:00, and a JV game at Whiteland on Thursday @5:00 and a doubleheader Saturday morning @ 10:00 at the high school. Tony plays tonite at 6:30 at home(not sure where our home field is yet) and  Wednesday and  a doubleheader on Sunday@ 2:00.

Elena has her 1st volleyball tournament on Saturday at Plainfield.Don't know times and things yet.

This week will be  a kind of easy week as far as the housework goes because the kids pitched in last week and got everything in really good shape.  We donated a whole van load full of stuff to goodwill on Friday. Ya know that makes it just a little easier to keep things clean.

Have a good day! Better get started on something soon before I change my mind.

Hey everyone,

It's way later than I wanted to be up, but here I am. It's quiet and peaceful so I thought I would update real quick.
Brian's surgery went very well on Monday.  The doctor said there is supposed to be a ring of tissue behind the shoulder to keep it in place, but Brian's was torn. He put an anchor into his bone and stitched it back together. He also tightened the ligaments in the front of the shoulder, so he wouldn't be at such great risk of reinjury in the future. Brian is doing well, both mentally and emotionally. We must be very careful to protect his arm for the next six weeks, but we are expecting a good recovery for him.

Today, Greg had his ingrown toenail cut out. He was a real trooper. Getting the toe numb was a bit of an ordeal, but the rest of the procedure went smoothly.  Greg is doing well also.

That's the big news for this week, everything else is just the daily grind. (ya know, laundry, cooking, cleaning etc.)  We are starting a major decluttering event around here, and I am pretty excited to get that done again.  I guess it is a never ending quest, but it's worth it.

Have a great day.  Catch ya later,

Kathy

Hi ya'll,

I'm back for a change. Since my last post things have been really busy. I went to work for Don & Dona's (restaurant where the boys work). I worked four weeks as a prep cook, doing most of the slicing dicing peeling etc. kind of work.  I learned alot and my coworkers were really nice to me.  I was also trained to wash dishes,( as if I needed to learn that LOL) and run the cash register. I liked that better than any thing else I did.

Tony started his baseball season last weekend.  Snow, sleet , wind, rain, and all. Crazy  weather for playing (or watching) baseball. He did ok for the first game of the season , but there will be plenty of room for team improvement.  Mark also started his season last week. He plays 1st base for the JV team at the HS.  He had been told that he needed to learn to hit the ball to the opposite field because he is a lefty.  His first game he hit all 4 hits to left field.  (Guess he took instruction pretty well)  He got 1 double and did a nice job at 1st.

Tomorrow, Brian will have surgery on his left shoulder. It is scheduled for 10:00 am, we have to be there by 8:00 am. He isn't looking forward to it and neither am I but will be glad to have the problem fixed.

Greg's cast is supposed to come off on April 17th.  We'll see how well it is healed by then and decide whether he needs a brace or a new cast at that time.

The kids are all healthy again. and we're so thankful for that.

Dennis started his new job this week. It went well and he likes it ok. I'm back to being MOM and everyone is glad to be getting back to normal.

We will be welcoming  a foreign exchange student into our home sometime soon.  His name is Juan and he is from  Columbia. We have had the chance to visit with him some lately and are looking forward to getting to know him better.

I think this pretty much catches everyone up on our crazy life. Have a good day and hope to update more regularly in the days to come.

Hi ya'll,

Glad to hear that David and Darci are OK. Caitlin told us about the accidents when she was down here on the weekend.  We've had some bouts with the stomach flu type thing.  Everyone is good to go today.HOORAY!!!!!  Dennis has been accepted to Colorado Technical University.  We are working on financial aid right now.  Today we were able to get all 3 FAFSA's filed. ( No Joni, I won't be begging for your help or computer this year)  We purchased a new hard drive last week, and it is wonderful having a computer that can do all the things we need to do. And it can do it in a lot less time than the old one. Dennis is still looking for a job , but don't have anything really promising at this moment. Still haven't heard any thing from Fanimation.(Don't know exactly what that means?)  Brian went to see the physical therapist this week. She thinks he will need shoulder surgery to keep his life somewhat normal. Not exactly what we were hoping for. No final decision has been made yet as to whether he will or won't.  I don't get much computer time right now,but will keep up as I can.  We will be going to AU to see the OPERA on Friday with Mom and Dad, and John and Lori.  (Joni if you and Jason want to go to, Call us)   Have a great day

Catch ya later,

Kathy
