howdy. it's december. that's ridiculous.

we're currently in finals, and i'm working mostly diligently on two final papers that are coming along surprising well.

and then it's a week. and then it's flying home the 21, getting in the 22.

that's astounding.

that's incredible.

that's so many things.

but, before i go, expect a few more updates on the website and also the fotolog. The latter of the two is more of a "...worth a thousand words" type review of the trip that is also kind-of-though-i-wish-it-weren't counting down the days with 22 of my favorite pictures / most defining moments of the trip. Either way, take a look.

so i know it's been a while, but i'm sure you're all checking the http://www.wam.umd.edu/~nmburka for more argentine updates aren't you?

Everything is swell and chipper here in the south.

But my reason for writing today is an interesting musi / internet epiphany I had recently.

I think that Chris Cornell of Audioslave would sound amazing singing the Red Hot Chili Pepper's hit Under the Bridge. acoustically.

Think about it: he's got this powerful, dramatic voice, and wonderful ability to alter a song to fit the mood.

okay. so first.

Read this (an editorial in yesterday's Washington Post written by the Prime Minister of Lebanon) and write a letter to the Post or to whomever you feel reminding them that allowing Hezbollah to operate freely in Lebanon and cause terror and destruction in Israel is not acceptable. Also, look up the definition of the word "dignity" because I have a feeling that the writer doesn't quite know what it really means.

Then, read this (an editorial in today's Washington Post written by a former US Ambassador to the UN) and write a letter thanking the writer for reminding the public--or at least, those who read the op-ed pages--that this battle, though yes, bloody and strong, is a showing of self-defense. I can't say I agree with all that the writer says later on in the article, but...

And finally...read this because you want to know how things are in Buenos Aires.

peace tonight.

sorry for cryptic messages. lots going on in my head. and only 18 days left to talk about it. but really, there's less because of how potchmarked my weeks leading up to my departure will in fact be.

observe:
june 5: ...no idea, though i think we're going to Vicarro's in Baltimore for all you can eat cannoli. suffice to say, i'm ridiculously excited.
june 7-11: Hava Nashira
june 12: um...Dentist? maybe golf with my dad and the rabbi
june 16: radio one last time before leaving. going to see Andrew's play hopefully.
june 17: my birthday / going away party. 7-11 pm. come one come all.
june 18: father's day
june 19: going, at least planning on it, up to Crane Lake to visit friends i will not be seeing for another year.
june 21: come back, regroup...
june 22: stuff...leading up to a 9:47 PM flight out of Dulles.

wow.

yeap. that's about it for now.
