The Man You Want Me to Be

So while I was praying this evening, this song came to mind.  It's by Phil Joel, the former bassist of the band The Newsboys.  It's off his second solo album.  I was praying and I realized that this is what I want for my life.

I played the fool so long
Thought I was so strong
All the while You knew it wasn’t true
Rerunning in my mind
Memories of another time
When all I ever lived for
Was You

CHORUS:
Jesus
Make me the man You want me to be
Jesus
Make me the man You want me to be

I’ve been listening all my life
Words are spoken all the time
I have heard the liars and the true
Voices twisting in the air
Sweetly sounding so unclear
But nothing can replace a word
From You

A child is but for so long
Turn around those days are gone
Nothing can replace the years of youth
I have swallowed lies
That tasted true
The plans I thought were sent from You
When all You wanted was for me
To be still

The burning in the heart
Of man’s deepest desire
Is rising like a flame

The burning in the heart
Of our deepest desire
Rising like a flame
Burning higher and higher
Burning in the heart
Of our deepest desire
Is to know You

New year entry at last

Wow, it's been over a month since my last update.  A lot of things have changed.  For example, I'm almost done with my 3rd week of student teaching.  I started teaching classes on my second day.  By next week I should be in full control.  I'm a bit nervous about that part, but I'll survive and be better because of it.

I'm only going to be working part-time at the theatre.  We've been down 2 managers for the past 4-6 weeks so I've had to continue working 40 hours a week while student teaching, but our senior manager is back this weekend and we have another manager that just got transferred to our theatre starting this weekend.  So I'll finally be able to drop down to about 30 hours a week.

Last weekend I got to see some friends that I hadn't seen in almost a year and a half.  It was so nice to have a social life for a couple of days.

That's about all I can think of for right now.  Maybe I'll update more frequently from here on out.  Maybe not.

WOOHOO!!!

What a great way to end the day.

I worked from 130pm until about 200am today.  Even with all of that time, I still couldn't get all the tasks done that I was supposed to get done today.  That's what happens when you have to rely on technology so much.

Needless to say, I'm pretty tired, but I have tomorrow (today?) off so it's all good.  Any way, the thing that ended the day on such a high night is that I got an e-mail back from the registrar's office.  They approved my Math clep credit for my transcript.  I took this test my freshman year at Olivet to get out of taking a math class.  I didn't take the credits, because I wasn't required to take a math class to graduate.  Well, in order to be certified to teach I had to have that math credit.  I had forgotten about that test and so I was trying to arrange to take a math class at my local community college.  I didn't have the time to take the placement test so I was going to try and take an MBA class at Olivet.  Then I remembered about that test and I asked the registrar about it, and they said it was ok, so now I don't have to worry about taking another class while I'm student teaching!  WOOHOO!

That is all.

Bender's Big Score Update!

In addition to the feature presentation, there are several amusing bonus features.

There's a commentary with the creators, animators, and several voice actors.  There's a live reading of a Futurama Returns comic book from the San Diego Comic Con with the voice actors voicing their characters.  There is a "Terrifying Message from Al Gore" promoting "An Inconvenient Truth."  There're deleted scenes/story boards and new sketches.

One interesting feature is the "Bite My Shiny Metal X" segment.  It's an actual math lecture on the math referenced in the show.  I haven't watched the whole thing, but they also show you how to decipher the alien languages of the show.

Also, and possibly most importantly, there is a full length episode of the #1 television series "Everybody Loves Hypnotoad."  It's a full 22 minute episode of the classic show "Everybody Loves Hypnotoad."  All glory to the hypnotoad....*clap*
