| And the problem is this We were bought with a kiss But the cheek still turned Even when it wasn’t hit
And I don’t know What to do with a love like that And I don’t know How to be a love like that
When all the love in the world Is right here among us And hatred too And so we must choose What our hands will do
Where there is pain Let there be grace Where there is suffering Bring serenity For those afraid Help them be brave Where there is misery Bring expectancy And surely we can change Surely we can change Something
And the problem it seems Is with you and me Not the Love who came To repair everything
Where there is pain Let us bring grace Where there is suffering Bring serenity For those afraid Let us be brave Where there is misery Let us bring them relief And surely we can change Surely we can change Oh surely we can change Something
Oh, the world’s about to change The whole world’s about to change

2) A) violin- soprano; viola- alto; cello- tenor; double bass- bass B) Violin-- 1) In the past, strings were made of guts. 2) Today, the "e" string is made of steel, while the other three strings are over spun with silver or aluminum. Double Bass-- 1) Today, many double basses have a 5th string tuned to the C tone. 2) The double bass is the largest of the string instruments and can produce the lowest range of tones.
3) A) trumpet- soprano; horn- alto; trombone- tenor; tube- bass B) Tuba-- 1) Usually functions as the double bass of the brass choir, but is also used as a solo instrument. 2) The smallest tuba is called an Euphonium and is usually pitched on B flat. B) Trumpet-- 1) Trumpets were used for fanfares and flourishes for ceremonies, and for other festive occasions. 2) Tones of the trumpet's low register sound full and solemn, while highest notes are much more penetrating.
4) A) Flute, piccolo, clarinet, bass, clarinet, English horn, oboe, bassoon, double bassoon B) Double-- oboe, bassoon, double bassoon Single-- Clarinet, bass clarinet
5) A) Timpani, tubular bells, xylophone, vibraphone B) Tambourine, triangle, cow bell, symbols
6) 1) Literally, the term means "comfortable" in Italian. In music, the term is used to designate a slow tempo, which is a little faster than Largo. The term is also used to designate a movement in slow tempo, such as slow movements in symphonies, concertos, sonatas, chamber music, etc. 2) Hold or pause, or colloquially a birdseye is an element of musical notation indicating that the note should be sustained for longer than its note value would indicate. Exactly how much longer it is held is up to the discretion of the performer, but twice as long is not unusual. It is usually printed above, but occasionally below (upside down), the note that is to be held longer. Occasionally holds are also printed above rests or barlines, indicating a pause of indefinite duration. 3) In music, a unison is an interval, the ratio of 1:1 or 0 half steps and zero cents. Two tones in unison are considered to be the same pitch, but are still perceivable as coming from separate sources. The unison is considered the most consonant interval while the near unison is considered the most dissonant. The unison is also the easiest interval to tune. The unison is abbreviated as P1. 4) A particular series of intervals or chords that ends a phrase, section, or piece of music. Cadences give phrases a distinctive ending, that can, for example, indicate to the listener whether the piece is to be continued or concluded. An analogy can be made with punctuation, with some weaker cadences acting as commas, indicating a pause or momentary rest, while a stronger cadence will then act as the period, indicating the end of the phrase or musical sentence. Cadences are called "weak" or "strong" the more or less final the sensation they create. It should be noted that while cadences are usually classified by specific chord or melodic progressions, the use of such a progression does not necessarily constitute a cadence — there must be a sense of closure, as at the end of a phrase 5) Italian for "tail". It is a passage which brings a movement or a separate piece to a conclusion through prolongation. This developed from the simple chords of a cadence into an elaborate and independent form. In a series of variations on a theme or in a composition with a fixed order of subjects, the coda is a passage sufficiently contrasted with the conclusions of the separate variations or subjects, added to form a complete conclusion to the whole 6) Literally meaning "tied together" and indicates that musical notes are played smoothly. That is, in transitioning from note to note, there should be no intervening silence. Legato technique is required for slurred performance, but unlike slurring (as that term is interpreted for some instruments), legato does not forbid rearticulation. In standard notation legato is indicated either with the word legato itself, or by a curved line over or under the notes that are to be joined in one legato group. 7) An octave is sometimes abbreviated 8ve or P8. It is the interval between one musical note and another with half or double its frequency. 8) A musical term indicating fast tempo. 9) Italian for "time" and is the speed or pace of a given piece. It is an extremely crucial element of sound, as it can affect the mood and difficulty of a piece. 10) Refers to a passage of music during which the volume gradually increases.
| so...life is weird. i now live in a new state and a new state of mind.
college is different. i like different. change is good.
God has been so real lately it makes me cry as i write this. closeness is what i need right now. forever.
i'm starting to see Him in a new way. i'm also starting to see people in a new way. i guess you could say that i am starting to see myself in a new way.
i never realized how much i love and need my friends back home until i moved. they are my comfort zone. but i know that i wasn't made for a comfort zone.
deep breaths have become something valuable to me.
when we become real with God, it's amazing how real he is with us. it's also heart warming or heart breaking when he reveals how real or unreal the people we love are with Him.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before His eyes, and He is the one to whom we are accountable. Hebrews 4:13

| moments like this, i'm glad i still have xanga.
i just want to get away. do something i've never done before.
i would really like to just take a break from life and travel the world.
...but back to reality...
i start school soon. i'm excited, but yet, not so much. i've never had change in my life.
i've never been the new kid at school, i've never gone out of the country, i've never played in the snow, i've never broken the rules, i've never pulled over on the interstate to dance on the hood of my car, i've never rolled down the biggest hill in America, i've never rain danced, i've never played ding-dong-ditch, i've never sat and watched tons of old movies and musicals all in one sitting while crying my eyes out while laughing at the same time, i've never ice skated out side, i've never ridden a fan boat (surprisingly), i've never hung anyone's underwear from a flag pole, i've never given/received a swirley, i've never slept outside with no tent and just gazed at the stars all night, i've never shared an ice cream cone with anyone (but i have my dog, muffin, when i was 5..it was a Flinstone push-up), i've never ran from third to second to first to home, i've never asked for a to-go box at a buffett, i've never projectile vomitted, i've never lived outside of this general area, i've never ran away from home, i've never slept walked, i've never spoke my mind to the rude fast food worker who is angry with the world, i've never busted a t.v. with a bat, i've smashed plates to the floor and let them shatter, i've never made a fire without matches, i've never taken a useless road trip just for the company of other with the destination not even a matter, i've never caught fire flies, i've never jumped off of the old Sterlington bridge,...the list goes on and on.
one day these things will come. i'm going back to the hole theory.
i miss the old days but i'm excited for new ones with new people.
so sing me a song. let me hum along at the top of my lungs i come undone. what else can i do? what can i do?
