Updates...

It has been forever since I blogged on xanga. I've been cheating on xanga with myspace. Oops. Anyway. Here's the new updates in my life...

1) I'm pregnant! Gavin and I are having another baby due April 4th! He keeps telling Savanna it's her "Baby Brother" even though he doesn't know! I think we're going to find out the sex this time instead of letting it be a surprise. Gavin wants a boy :0)

2) I'm voting for McCain. I'm terrified of what will happen in this country if Obama is elected president. Not only is he not qualified, and has a terrible platform, but he's also Muslim (even though he denies it) and thinks all whites and Christians are infidels. So yeah.... McCain/Palin! Check out Greg's blog for great stuff on Obama!

3) Savanna talks in sentences now. She can respond to your questions. She can ask questions. She thinks about things and tells you what she's thinking about. Sometimes it sounds like gibberish, but she's getting really good at communicating. And when she can't, she just cries. Hahaha :0) It's so awesome to see how much she's grown into this little person! And she's so excited about babies. I don't think she comprehends that we're going to have one, but she goes crazy when she sees babies on TV or at the store... "Baby! Baby! Baby!"

4) I'm studying more about Calvinism and whether I believe in the TULIP or not. I know that I am a good 3-point Calvinist. But there's more that I have to study. I'm still not sure about Limited Atonement and Irresistable Grace. I'm still studying Scripture and listening to teachings about it. I don't want to be persuaded either way. I just want to follow the Word of God.

Wow, the last 2 years have been just crazy. If I looked at my life 2 years ago, it was NOTHING like it is now. There's been so many changed in my life and it's weird to think about how different my life was not too long ago. If someone had told me that over the last 2 years I would have gotten pregnant, moved 4 times, had a baby, worked in a new church and live an hour away from any family, I would have thought "No way!" But I like my life. I have learned so much through all those experiences, and I am enjoying where we are. We love it here. And Savanna is growing up so much. It would be awesome if we stayed here her whole childhood and she grew up with our youth at church. They're some really great kids. Savanna is really a little person now. She runs and plays and talks and has a great personality! Here's some more pictures...

My baby girl is growing up! She'll be one year old on Saturday! I can't believe it. She's walking, well- running now! She's got a mouth full of teeth, she's talking, she doesn't use a bottle anymore, we're going to start potty-training in a little while.... I guess she's officially a toddler on Saturday! She's just so big now. I'm amazed everyday at how smart she is. There's a two year old and a 18 month old that we know, and she's talking more and understands more than both of them! She's awesome!

Notice to those of you who don't know...

We don't have internet, phone, or cable! We moved into our own place and we can't afford any of the modern technologies. So I have to use the internet at the library. The United States of America could be under attack from Russia we wouldn't know until someone from church told us or someone at Target told Gavin! Ha-ha. So that's why I'm barely on here and that's why there hasn't been many updates!

Savanna has five teeth, can stand alone with no assistance, feeds herself, and waves hi and bye now! She's getting so big! Too fast :0)

Savanna Update....

We went to Shands yesterday to see a Pediatric Gastroenterologist. The GREAT news is that Savanna does not have Hershsprungs Disease and won't be needing surgery!!!!!!! The bad news is that we still don't know what's causing her condition and she now has to be on daily medication. The doctor said that he thinks she will get better with age and eventually will not need medication. But we have a follow-up at Shands in February. If things don't improve, they will do more tests and look to different possibilities. But for now, she's doing fine!

I've been cheating on xanga with my myspace. I apologize. Our kids at FBC all have myspaces, so we both created a site after we found out. And I've been using it more than xanga because.... well because I sorta forget to do both. So to the three of you that read my xanga, sorry for not keeping up. Oh by the way... I love this new picture at the top! Snow is so beautiful. My momma called me a couple days ago to tell me it was snowing at South Dakota. I will miss the change of season and actually getting to wear a sweater in the fall and winter! Gavin and I were laughing about how it's December and like 80* outside! Anywho...

I think Savanna may be healed. She went to the hospital on November 14th and since then, we've all been praying that her diet would be the answer. And guess what? She's been doing SOOOO much better! So I'm expecting to hear that she's A-OK when we got to Shands on Wednesday. (But keep praying until you hear an update!)

We're starting to look for a place of our own now that Gavin has a second job. He still doesn't make much, so we can't afford much. You know how that goes. There's been several "maybes" that didn't pan out. There's a real big house that's a possibility right now, but I don't want to get my hopes up. If we did get it though, we could fix it up really nice. It has a HUGE front porch with hooks for a porch swing. I've always wanted a house with a porch and a yard. Well, keep praying for a place for us.

So, that's the update. Oh yeah, did I mention that someone rented our apartment in Lead? Yeah, so that's a PRAISE report! Well, I better get off to bed while I still can. Savanna tends to want to wake up as soon as my head hits the pillow! Ha-ha-ha.

So Savanna spent four hours at the pediatricians yesterday... being poked and prodded and x-rayed. And they still don't know why she has chronic constipation. She has to go see a Gastro-Intestinal Specialist at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. The pediatrician thought she might be lactose intolerant and switched her to soy formula. She drinks the soy just fine, but it didn't fix the problem. Now she's on Lactulose for 20 days and she'll go to see the specialist. They did x-rays and drew blood. That was the worst experience!!!!!! It's really hard to watch your baby scream and cryout in pain as a nurse fishes around in her arm for a vein! And to top it off, she didn't stop bleeding when they took out the needle, so they had to squeeze the wound for another 5 minutes while she cried! It was so sad. They're also testing for Hypothyroidism. Her doctor doubts that's what it is, but she has to cover the bases. SO.......... please pray for her. She's real trooper and she acts like she doesn't have a care in the world. But that doesn't mean something's not seriously wrong. Let's just pray that it's nothing and she'll be A-OK soon.
