| HollywoodDid you know that they set up the stands outside Kodak Theatre for the Oscars one week in advance? No? Well, they do. And did you also know that Jimmy Kimmel Live is taped in an old Masonic Temple? No? Well, it is. Another point, the Hyatt on Sunset Blvd is probably the best room in the area, but it's still not NEARLY as good as Hyatts in other areas of this nation. However, it does have an excellent view of LA. And when the room is filled with Matt Toyer and Carrie Stuenzi, it really can't get much better. And believe me - with their personalities, the room is filled. | | |
| The Latest:The Memory Keeper's Daughter - really good. Lots of descriptive language, but heart tugging and insightful. Just the right book to stand back from these people's lives and know what they didn't wrong and how they could have fixed it.
The Feminine Mystique - READ IT! Remind yourself why we are the way we are today. Healthful.
Because I Said So - wonderful matinee movie to see with your best friend. If you're a girl, that is.
Jane Eyre - See it, live it, love it. The most beautiful story of truth and beauty of the inner person.
Gender and Grace - anyone who had Haffey for Women in America knows this one. Girls, re-read it. Such a breath of fresh air.

| Latest reads, movies, etc.Rich Dad, Poor Dad is a great book that challenges the way I, and probably most of us, was raised to think about making money. This new way is better.
The Memory Keepers Daughter is a great modern novel with a rather classical writing style. Perfect by-the-fire reading.
The Partner, Grishham, is a delightfully easy read with a great catharsis.
I'm hooked on James Taylor's Greatest Hits Album.
The Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy on audiobook works well while on the treadmill.
The Queen is worthy of Best-Actress. The Good German is only worth its cinematography. Night At the Museum is the best all-around, completely predictable, hilariously funny movie I've seen in years. Dreamgirls is only entertaining the first half. Then it becomes old-hat.
And now you know, the rest of the story.

| Conversing with the kids...Ms. Sando - "What is your title? What are you supposed to be doing for the show right now?" H.S. Student - "We're talking about costume ideas!" Ms. Sando - "No you're not. You're laughing about crap!" H.S. Student - "You should learn to trust us more." Ms. Sando - "Ha. Yeah. Fat chance." | | |
