  • Spent the last few days up by the Continental Divide camped out on the north side of Mount Princeton where it was 15 -20 degrees cooler. The mountain range known as the Collegiate Peaks is beautiful. Once upon a time I wanted to buy some land, sink a well, chop fire wood, go without electricity, and live in the area but I think that time has passed. As time has gone by primitive living has lost it’s appeal.

The girls loved it. At their age it's is all about marshmallows and hot dogs

  • Healthy Living

The New England Journal of Medicine’s latest research on diet has shown that cutting carbohydrates is the best diet for losing weight. I’m screwed because I need to lose 10 lbs. and I am a carbohydrate junkie. I love pasta, rice, potatoes, bread, pizza and snack at night on cereal. Oh well I guess I’ll just go with the Trust God Diet and be thankful for whatever it is I have to eat.

  • Blogging

While pondering what to blog about I decided to look up the word blog in the dictionary to see if the definition would help me know where I might go with this blogging thing. Decided to paste it.

    blog |bläg|
    noun
a Web site on which an individual or group of users produces an ongoing narrative : Most of his work colleagues were unaware of his blog until recently.
    verb ( blogged, blogging) [ intrans. ]
add new material to or regularly update a blog.
    DERIVATIVES
    blogger noun
ORIGIN a shortening of weblog .

So a blog, according to this definition is an ongoing narrative. About what? Life? Finance? Beans?

It was a hot one today. Don’t think I would do any serious hiking even if I didn’t have a pulled calf muscle. And it is dry. There was a grass fire near Fort Carson that they say was started by a lawn mower spark. The precipitation for this season is on pace to be one of the driest on record. 2.91 inches so far for the year. The driest year on record(1939) saw 6.09 inches of precipitation. May a new record be set this year!

  • The Future of Tennis

    Champions of the World
    tennis
    tennis future

Although I need some one to teach me the fundamentals of playing tennis, I got the seven year old on the tennis court. She likes it so I think I’m going to take her to the park regularly. I hope she doesn’t lose interest. She stays at the house three days a week and the park is right around the corner so she can play anytime she wishes. It would be so cool to stimulate an interest in something and have her stick with it.
I did a dumb thing and was playing in my sandals and pulled my right calf muscle but it should be okay by thursday.

  • Testimony

Years ago I had a therapist ask me what I’d do if I had to live in the state of depression I was in for the rest of my life. All I remember thinking at the time was how big of a jag off I thought the guy was to ask me that question. Days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. Then one night after a visit by an Assembly of God minister a black man,James Loveless, asked me to follow him into the dormitory and he had me kneel at the side of my bed and he laid hands on me and prayed and asked God to show me he was almighty and had power to forgive sins and at that very moment I felt something be released from me and as if not of my own volition, I heard myself saying “I love you Jesus”. Since that time my life has never been the same.
