Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer.

Stephanie, Stephen, Nick, and I went to check out the Soundtrack of Your Summer Tour at The Grove in Anaheim last night.  We saw Boys Like Girls (again) who were the headliners. We saw Good Charlotte (again).  We saw Metro Station (again).  We saw The Maine (again). BLG for Life! as Stephen would say.  The Grove is an awesome venue. The last time I was here, I saw Fuel.  It's huge and the standing room floor is divided into sections, so you can easily be in the front section, and stay in the front section.  Good Charlotte was fun especially for old-timers like us. Their set was pretty short compared to when they headline, but they were still okay.  They didn't sing March On which was kinda disappointing.  For BLG, we went to the front section. I kinda felt bad because I think we were the tallest ones in our little area and the little young'uns behind us probably couldn't see past us.  I didn't turn around, but I could feel them rolling their eyes and saying "oh great." But we befriended a dad who was there with his daughter, and I didn't feel as bad anymore.  haha.  Jumping up and down is easily becoming our thing. I took some really good pictures.  It's usually hit or miss with my little digital Canon.  It all depends on the lighting at the exact moment you shoot.  Turns out most of my pics were hits.

I know the feel of wearing different faces.

Met up with Lauren and Brianna at Chain Reaction last night.  Saw Halos, We Shot The Moon (again), and Houston Calls (again).

Lauren took these pics with her awesome bad-ass camera:

I took this pic with my lame-ass blackberry camera:

Pip thinks Shabu Shabu is fantastic.

Last night, Aaron, Lily, and the girls took my cousin Pip and I to Yojie Shabu Shabu for dinner. It was great hanging out while cooking our meal. Thanks again for a great time.

My cousin Pip is visiting from London for about two weeks. We leave for Las Vegas today for a big family reunion and to attend another cousin's wedding.

It's super hot in the 909.

Yesterday, I had the day off to go to the first day of the 2008 Vans Warped Tour at the Pomona Fairplex.  I had a chance to check out a lot of bands.  It was a scorcher day, and me applying and re-applying sunblock throughout the day prevented me from getting the dreadful "racoon eyes." Driving in and parking at this venue was way better than what I experienced last year at the Home Depot Center in Carson.   Some of the bands I enjoyed were: We The Kings, Relient K, The Higher, Set Your Goals, Valencia, Katy Perry, The Maine, Oreskaband, and my favorite Angels & Airwaves. I missed Pennywise and Mayday Parade, but figured I'll try to catch them when the tour ends at the Home Depot Center in August.  I met up with Lauren, Brianna, and Thierry throughout the day. We watched Valencia together, where one of the guys in the band decided to crowd surf on us.

American Chophouse.

Ever been to 555 East in Downtown Long Beach? It's a place one can go to indulge at a traditional American steakhouse.  Fine dining right here in the LBC. Last night, I had the pleasure of treating Aaron and Lily to a really really nice dinner for their 8th anniversary. (a Best Man should never forget) yeah!

It's a pretty classy joint.  Kinda New York-ish.  There was a guy playing piano the whole night. The service was excellent.  Warm bread was served promptly by the time we made our wine selection.  For appetizers, we had the 555 Dungeness Crabcake, Seared Ahi, and Baked Goat Cheese with Roasted Garlic.  I had the Rack of Lamb, and Aaron and Lily each ordered the Filet Mignon.  For sides we had Sauteed Mushrooms, Asparagus Dijonnaise, and the Macaroni and Cheese. We ordered a bottle of Neal Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon based on a recommendation from a review I read on Yelp. It was absolutely perfect with our meal.  Everything was delicious.
