| I've finished my first FULL 40 work week, and it was good. All week was crazy busy, except for today. Because we only had 2 docs in and they were done at 11:45 today. After lunch, we just cleaned until about 2:30, then we sat there and read magazines, rolled around in our chairs until we got dizzy, and talked until 5. Yep, I have a great job!! But we earned it, ran our tails off this week. I'm finally getting the hang of there way of doing things so now its fun. I still don't like taking blood though, only because most of our patients are diabetics, which makes their veins shit basically. And plus, they are old. So, their skin is really soft and flexible and ugh, it feels gross. Not to be mean, but it makes me feel really bad to hurt them!!! Anyway, my mom took Brooklynn to the doctor yesterday for me to get her prescription for her formula. WIC here requires a script for Simlic Lactose Free. So, she weighs 17 lbs 4 oz now!!! Big girl~!! Then the doc said she was really pale and they wanted to take blood to make sure she wasn't anemic!!! I was pissed when I found that out, b/c, what is wrong with babies being pale here?? Nobody ever said anything about her being pale in Colorado. So, my mom said the nurse put a warm washcloth on Brooklynn's arm for about 5 mins, then poked her finger to take blood. Brooklynn never cried and just looked back and forth from her finger to the nurse. Afterwards, they bandaged up her finger and Brooklynn proceeded to try and eat it for the next 2 hours until it fell off That's my girl!!! And before the doctors visit, my mom brought her to my office so I could show her off. Of course, everybody just loved her and gushed over how cute she was, which she loved!! And one of the doc's wife was there with his little girl, who is 4 months old. She is the same size as Brooklynn!! And they just goo gaa gaa at each other. It was so cute.
And that is about all that happened this week. I'm supposed to go out to lunch with a friend tomorrow or Sunday We'll see how that goes. And I'm really tired so I think I'll just go to bed. And I'm keeping everybody in Rita's path in my prayers. Good luck and be careful!!
P.S. I'm picking up new pics of Brooklynn tomorrow so be on the lookout for a picture post...I guess I'll go ahead and make that new xanga so I can get premium for free for a little while so I can post pics!!! I'll let ya know when I get it and the pics up, later ya'll!!! |
I got into a groove again. Anyway, yep, off to work, take care and be safe and most of all, ENJOY LIFE!!! Have a good attitude about it...even if you are having a bad day!!!
