2 Corinthians 4:8-9

We are pressed on every side by troubles,
but we are not crushed.
We are perplexed,
but not driven to despair.
We are hunted down,
but never abandoned by GOD.
We get knocked down,
but we are not destroyed.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9

Points to understanding football

 1. There are mainly three types of guys on the field. 11 on each side [22 on the field total]. BIG HUGE slow moving guys. Medium Regular Medium moving guys. And small tiny FAST SPEED guys. And the chess match being played is which combo of guys to put on the field. Should there be 5 small fast, 5 Big slow and 1 average or 7 average 4 Big or go with 5 Fast 2 Big 4 average. Etc.

2. There are 100 yards on the field. And you are only going to get 3 - 5yards on any given play, on average anyway. So to make things fair. You give the offense 4 tries [4 downs] to get 10yards. And if they get those ten yards on any of the 4 tries [4downs]. They get a fresh set of tries [downs]. 1st down is 1st try at 10 yards. All the way to the end of the field where you are given 6 points. A touchdown.

3. There is a kicker in football that gets to kick during any of these tries. He can kick for 3 points if he kicks through the narrow goal post. And he is allowed to kick for 1 point after a touchdown. If a team feels he is waaaaaaay to far away to make a field goal for 3 points . They will just kick it all the way to the other side just to make it harder for the other team to move the ball all the way to their side of the field. The kicker who kicks it all the way to the other side is called a punter. Since there are 4 tries in football. The team usually waits until its 4th try to kick the ball.

4. There are only going to be two things an offense does [offense means they have the football and 4 tries]. RUN or PASS. That is it. They might fake a pass and run [draw is what they would call it]. Or fake a run and throw it [play action is what they call it]. But it still is only going to be one or the other at the end of the play.

5. Since there are only one of two result for any play. You will need to decide which way you want to go with your runner or passer. Do you want the small fast guy to run or pass. Or do you want a Big guy who is slow and Huge. If you pass, you want someone who is smart and can throw far [His position is called the Quarter Back] Runners are called [Running Backs. Back also because they are in the back]. Passers pass the ball to wide receivers [because they are always wide out and far from all of those big guys]. They are small and fast. And there are 5 HUGE slow moving guys the protect the QB and block defense from coming at him. [called offensive line. Tackles Guards and the Center, who is in the center].

6. As a defense you want to stop the people with the ball. So you would put fast people against their fast people and big guys against there big guys and medium against there medium [as a general rule]. So you put corner backs against those fast catchers called receivers [corner back because they are in a corner in the back usually. And Safeties like a safety net to help out in the back. There are medium size guys called Linebackers because the are right behind the front line [middle and outside because they will be in the middle or right outside the linemen]. And defense line are HUGE BIG slow moving guys to go against the offenses BIG HUGE slow guys [Defensive ends are on the end and Defensive Tackles are in the middle of the defensive line].

7. Now a defense can cause or do three things to get the ball away from the offense. They can stop them all 4 downs. [Usually only 3 because 95% of the time the offense will kick the ball away on their 4th try]. Cause or force the other team to drop the ball [called a fumble]. Or steal the ball out of the air when the offense passes the ball [called and interception].

8. Now for random facts. The Offense will try to run the ball to wear down and make the defense tired so that they can have an easy time at the end of the game. Running the ball makes defenses very tired. But runs usually only go for 3 -5 yards. Passing the ball usually gets 5 - 10 yards. But the defense usually doesn’t get as tired and they can still stay strong in the 4th quarter and the end of the game. Passing is a high risk high reward game. There is a much bigger chance there will be an interception from throwing than there will be a chance of fumbling from running.

9. Defenses usually only have 4 people going after the quarter back. And if they decide to go after him with more than 4. It is called a blitz. That is when they send 5 or more people to get the passer [QB]. If they get him, it is called a sack instead of a tackle. The defense has 4 ways to protect against passes high and over their heads. They call them covers. Cover 1,2,3,4. Cover 1 is having 1 person stay back the whole play for protection. Cover 2 is having 2 people back. Usually the safeties. Cover 3 for 3 people back to protect against the pass. And so on. Linebackers are usually the ones who blitz [attack the quarterback].

10. A typical game goes like this. You see the kicker kick the ball at the start of the game. That happens at the start of the game, the start of the half and after every touchdown. This does not count as one of the tries. It is a try but separate from the 4 tries to get 10 yards. The kick goes in the air and the return man gets usually 20 yards. So it is 1st try and 10 to go on the 20 yard line. So they have 80 yards to go. They run the ball for 3 yards on first try. And they have 7 yards to go on 2 try. They choose to pass and get 6 yards. So they have 1 yard to go and then they get 4 more tries to get another ten yards. They choose to pass again with 4 fast guys, 5 Big guys and 2 average size guys. But the defense Came to them with 5 Big guys 3 Average and 3 small and blitzed the quarterback with their big size and sacked him for a loss of 4. So now it is 4th try and 5 yards to go. And they are only on their 25yrd line and have 75yrds left. So they bring out the kicker and he kicks it all the way down the field. Now the other team has it on their on their 20 yard line. They run on first try and get 5 yards. Then pass on 2nd try and the defense missed a tackle and the fast guy catches and runs for 75 yards into the end zone for a touchdown. The kicker comes out and gets to kick for 1 point. The rest of the game is full of tries but no touchdowns. 2 fumbles from the ball being droped and 2 interceptions from the ball being stolen out of the air from two teams combined. And the game ends 7 - 0.

NOW YOU UNDERSTAND FOOTBALL.

I found this interesting

Let's take a closer look at who's really qualified and or who's
Really working for the good of all of us in the Senate. Obama or
Clinton.
Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term - 6yrs. - and
another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law - 20
twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years. These bills can
be found on the website of the Library of Congress
www.thomas.loc.gov  , but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for
  you.

1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition
Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial
 of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on
winning the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on
winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution
Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.
15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters
who lost their lives on duty. Only five of Clinton's bills are, more
substantive.
16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11
18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as
protected in the wilderness preservation system.
There you have it, the facts straight from the Senate Record.

Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive,
so I'll mainly categorize.

During the first - 8 - eight years of his elected service he sponsored
 over 820 bills. He introduced

233 regarding healthcare reform,

125 on poverty and public assistance,

112 crime fighting bills,

97 economic bills,

60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,

21 ethics reform bills,

15 gun control,

6 veterans affairs and many others.

His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and
co-sponsored another 427.

These included the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency
Act of 2006 - became law, The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and
Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, - became law, The
Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate, **The 2007
Government
Ethics Bill, - became law, The Protection Against Excessive Executive
Compensation Bill, In committee, and many more.
In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890
bills and co-sponsored another 1096. An impressive record, for someone
who supposedly has no record according to some who would prefer that
this comparison not be made public.

 He's not just a talker.
 He's a doer.

I love this song and just wanted it on my xanga

Unfailing Love

You have my heart and I am Yours forever
You are my strength, God of grace and power
and everything, You hold in Your hand
Still You make time for me

Praise You God of Earth and sky, How beautiful is Your unfailing love
Unfailing love
And You never change God You remain

You are my song and I sing for You
And everything, You hold in Your hand
Still You make time for me, I can't understand
