Only three words for the new year

My new year resolution is to "Get With It".

Here are some good things I need to get with:

1. Work. Sometimes I feel like I'm sitting at work not doing anything for no good reason. I need to get with it.

2. Working out. Gotta lose this baby fat that I still have! It's been a good ten months, and now I need to get my ass over to the gym at least three times a week. I need to get with this too.

3. Cooking. I love it so much, but I don't make anything. I'm so lazy by the time I get home, I let my hubby go hungry. I need to get with this! (though cooking doesn't bode well for working out...I'll figure this one out soon enough)

4. Bills, bills, bills. 'Nuff said. I'm two years out of college. It's about time I get with this one.

Bobby Flay In thet Streets

As I'm taking a break downstairs at work, I see none other than Iron Chef America's BOBBY FLAY (also of Boy Meets Grill, Hot Off the Grill, on Food Network and the Chef and Owner of Mesa Grill and Bolo in Manhattan). Now, for those of you who don't know this, I am a Food Network fan. I watch this channel in my spare time. I even watch this show during my lunch hour - oh how my colleagues hate it when I hog our TV in the Pantry area with my Food Network-ing during lunch hour.

Bobby just looked like a normal New Yorker, in sweats and sneaks holding the paper, rushing by. He saw the look of recognition in my face and I was stunned for a moment while I tried to open my mouth and say something.

Complete coincidence!

My birthday is on 9/24 and apparently my mother gave birth to me at 9:24 PM on 9/24.

My son was born on 3/15 at 3:15pm .....complete coincidence?

if you're a chapstick fanatic like me (i carry at least one tube with me at all times), let me get you in on a little secret.

If you write to the Chapstick corporation or email them on their website, they'll send you free chapstick in the mail! i just received three tubes of the very awesome Peppermint flavored chapstick. it's fantastic, it tingles and it tastes so great.

ok on a different note, i just realized that i've been working for a full year full time. for all of you that graduated in 2005, this must not be new news to you. work becomes this routine, and frankly i like the routine a lot. it's comforting to know that from Monday to Friday, you wake up and you already know what you're going to do the whole day. i usually don't get my daily dose of ambition until i have a plan in my head of what i'm going to do and where i'm going to go on that day.

oh god, the other day at work we had a farewell party for one of the head honchos at work. they pulled out all the stops : buffalo wings (three kinds of spicy) guacamole, chips, salsa, beer, wine and sodas. that's right people, there was BEER and WINE being served to all employees on my floor at 4:30 in the afternoon on a working day! everyone was mingling and the bosses on the floor were all cracking lewd jokes left and right. it was funny. thing is, have you ever felt like you were the freakin youngest one in the room and that itchy crawly feeling attacks you out of nowhere and suddenly you realize how small you are? yea, it happened to me that day, at around 4:50pm, i realized how sad of a situation i put myself in. i don't like to make small talk with coworkers i barely know. it's not my thing. a whole load of bullshit if you ask me. that's definitely something i have to work on though, i can just see that the whole corporate world is based on small talk and loud mouths.

in other news, my life is grand. Baby Adam has doubled his birth weight to a whopping 17 pounds, and he's just absolutely adorable. he gurgles by himself and has started to grab everything around him and pull it towards his mouth. i think his gums are starting to itch and his tiny teeth are starting to grow inside. i don't think i've seen this much drool in a long time, since my babysitting days. it's so great to be a mama.
